Senior Finance Officer – Loan Management

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a multilateral development bank whose mission is financing the Infrastructure for Tomorrow—infrastructure with sustainability at its core. We began operations in Beijing in January 2016 and have since grown to 105 approved members worldwide. We are capitalized up to USD100 billion and Triple-A-rated by the major international credit rating agencies. Working with partners, AIIB meets clients’ needs by unlocking new capital and investing in infrastructure that is green, technology-enabled and promotes regional connectivity.

The Senior Finance Officer will report to the Loan Administration Unit, Office of the Controller, and focus on AIIB’s back-office operations that cover primarily loans, equity investments, guarantees, syndicated finance, and other financial products. The role will focus on nonsovereign operations. Their primary responsibility is to advise front-office project teams on technical matters, particularly in executing structured finance and equity solutions, by providing guidance on terms to minimize manual processes or finding solutions to implement the transaction.

Responsibilities:

Loan/Financial Products Administration

  • Work in partnership with the Investment Operations project teams to review and provide inputs or solutions for loan and financial product structuring and execution, aiming to standardize terms or find commercially acceptable workaround solutions if necessary.
  • Review and process utilization requests in line with the provisions of the legal agreement as well as relevant policies and procedures.
  • Review and approve in a timely manner the repayments, cancellations, repricing and billings of loan and financial products proceeds.
  • Close projects in a timely and appropriate manner together with project teams.
  • Monitor loan administration, including disbursement arrangements, to assess whether they remain acceptable and advise the project team of any required amendments.
  • Review and implement new financial products, including procedures, calculations, and reporting.
  • Advise on putting proper internal controls in place to mitigate operational risks.

Tools, Systems and Staff Management and Improvement

  • Serve as a focal point for the continuous enhancement of the Loan Management Information System (LMIS).
  • Coordinate and cooperate with other multilateral development banks (MDBs) and commercial banks on financing operations.
  • Implement and enhance relevant guidelines and actively contribute to establishing effective and efficient financing management workflows.
  • Support interfacing with relevant departments, including upstream and downstream systems.
  • Monitor disbursement performance by creating and meeting key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Deliver validated reports (using Cognos or other tools).
  • Conduct training and presentations for external and internal stakeholders.
  • Train junior staff on loan and financial product operations and processes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant practical experience, preferably in the environment of MDBs or investment banking operations.
  • Knowledge of the loan administration life cycle.
  • Experience in syndicated lending, equity funds, and alternative products are a plus.
  • Team player with a positive solution-oriented attitude and ability to work well with a diverse and multicultural team.
  • High level of personal integrity and a sense of accountability.
  • Excellent command of English, oral and written.
  • Master's degree in finance, accounting or related fieldsor equivalent years of relevant work experience.

AIIB is committed to diversity, transparency and inclusion. We believe our strength comes from having a team with the right diverse skills, experiences and abilities selected through a merit-based competitive process. We actively encourage applications from people from both within and outside AIIB members, regardless of nationality, religion, gender, race, disability or sexual orientation.

Join in AIIB’s mission to promote sustainable infrastructure investments and to improve social and economic outcomes in Asia and beyond.

Previous experience and qualifications will determine the grade and job title at which successful applicants will enter AIIB.
