About the role:

The International Potato Center (CIP) seeks a dynamic Entrepreurship Training Specialist to contribute to the implementation of the newCGIARResearchInitiativeonUrbanFoodSystemsinLima,Peru.Thisisanexcitingopportunityforapplyingandfurtherdeveloping innovationandentrepreneurshiptraininginthecontextofLima’scomplexanddynamicagrifoodsystem.

About the Initiative:

As part of its 2030 Researchand InnovationStrategy, CGIAR has launchedthe global Resilient Cities Initiative to undertake scientific research,facilitateinnovationandstrengthencapacitiesinurbanfoodsystemswiththeaimtoimprovediets,economicopportunities, andenvironmentalhealthfortheurbanpoor.For thefirstthreeyears(2022-25),theInitiativewillworkinsixcountries,includingPeru, through local governments, universities, civil society groups, and private sector organizations to strengthen access to and use of improvedtechnologies,skills,informationandmanagementpractices.Keyobjectivesincludegreaterefficiencyandsafetyofurbanand peri-urbanfoodproduction, equitable business andemployment opportunities in the informalfoodsector, increasedinvestments in circularbioeconomy,better foodenvironmentsfor adolescents,andbetter integrationofagrifoodintourbanplanningandgovernance. About the position:

TheEntrepreurshipTrainingSpecialistwillleadthemanagementofanentrepreneurshipsupportplatformthatwilllinkyoungscientists andentrepreneurswithdemandfor technological,managementandservicesectorinnovationsintheurbanfoodsystemofLima.The EntrepreurshipTrainingSpecialistwillworkcloselywithInitiativepartners,includingtheUNALa MolinaandtheLima2035Alliance,to align the methodologies and deliveryof the support platform to the training needs of students and young entrepreneurs. S/he will reporttotheInnovationSpecialistleadingthisInitiativecomponentinPeru.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage an entrepreneurship support platform (‘lean launchpad’) targeted at young agrifood graduates from colleges and universitiesinPeru

• Deliver trainingmodulesthroughe-learningtoolsandin-personsessions

• Monitor theoperationsoftheleanlaunchpadanddocumentkeyperformanceindicators

• Contributetopublicationofpeer-reviewedpapers,technicalreports,andbriefs

• Contributionstostakeholderforumsandtechnicalconferencesatcountrylevel
