ABOUT THE JOB

The Data/GIS Assistant (DGA) will report to the Database/GIS Officer, the Overall Objective of DGA is to support the collation of operational statistics, entry of operational data into relevant databases, and support in the provision of mapping within the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in collect and compiling operational statistics from the field locations at the end of the month as assigned.
  • Support in collection and archiving/storing of HDP operational documents (hard and soft copies) as assigned by technical supervisor.
  • Keep DRC OneDrive folder updated with all HDP operational documents to be accessed by relevant staff.
  • Update the IPTT online tool with HDP projects progress on the monthly basis.
  • Assist in providing maps when required for donors, proposals and other operational reports.
  • Liaise with DMAC’s MIS section in regards to IMSMA backup, printouts, documents and progress reports inaccuracy issue…etc.
  • Prepare operational statistics on request by the HDP department.
  • Maintain operational data backup on weekly basis in external drive and coordinates with Data/GIS officer.
  • Organize task file dossiers in Operations Room filing cabinets. This will include task completion, survey and De-mining
  • Update HQ online statistic file by monthly basis with HDP projects progress activities.
  • Any other reasonable tasks outlined by the line Manager.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role you must have:

Experience and technical competencies: 

  • 2-years’ experience in Database entry and management
  • Demonstrated experience in data collection, storing and organizing.
  • Working knowledge of GIS and mapping is desirable.
  • Experience of the Mine Action sector and the Information Management System for Mine Action is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Database development is an advantage.

Education/qualifications:

  • University/High school graduated or with relevant work experience and qualifications.
  • Strong IT skill in MS. Office, database application (SQL)

Languages:

  • Pashto and Dari –fluency
  • English -advance
