The WASH Officer (Urban) reports to the WASH Chief who is at Level 4 for supervision. The WASH Officer (Urban) provides technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the WASH programming process, which includes water supply and sanitation, climate change and environmental degradation adaptation aspects. The Officer prepares, manages and implements a variety of technical and administrative tasks, related to the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the WASH output results of the Country Programme.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • University (first) degree in public health, social sciences, behavior change communication, sanitary engineering or other

    specialist field related to WASH is required.
  • A minimum of two years of professional work experience in WASH-related programme for developing countries. Humanitarian experience is an assent.

  • Fluency in English and Ukrainian is required. Knowledge of another official UN language is an asset.

Government employees that are considered for employment with UNICEF are normally required to resign from their government before taking up an assignment with UNICEF. UNICEF reserves the right to withdraw an offer of appointment, without compensation, if a visa or medical clearance is not obtained, or necessary inoculation requirements are not met, within a reasonable period for any reason.
