Mission and objectives

Universal versatile society is a non-political, non-communal and nonprofit making, non-governmental voluntary social organization registered under Societies Registration Act-XXI of 1860 with Registration No. Maha/514/05/Akola on dated 30/06/2005 by the authority of Govt. of Maharashtra’s Asstt. Registrar of Societies, Akola Region - India. With the vision of preventing the farmer's suicide plight in Vidarbha through sustainable agriculture we have established Universal Versatile Society. We have begun our first activity with ‘CAP4School’ (Computer Awareness Programs) project by participating 12 rural schools to our activity. With the support of iEARN (International Education and Resource Network) we have brought glorifying success in project based learning in rural schools. Since after that we have switch our focus to agriculture, women empowerment, health, etc. For our remarkable progress in field of Environment, Education, Rural Development and Women Empowerment, we have been awarded with ‘Certificate of Merit’ by world CSR Congress. Our contribution to poverty alleviation, education, agriculture, rural development has been remarked by International organizations like Bahrain government, International Poverty Center, PLAN International, Leipzig University Germany, GTZ Cooperation, United Nations Environment Program TUNZA, Climate Reality Project, etc. Trust and acceptance of thousands of our beneficiaries is our asset. We are stepping the heights of success due to our dedicated team of volunteers, staffs, committee members, supporters, stakeholders and the very special donors.

Context

Our organization is working in farmer's suicide prone area of rural Vidarbha. We are in consultative status with UN ECOSOC and working to address may social issues. Through this assignment we are intending to apply for Sustainable Agriculture Grant so that we may train 50-60 representatives/members of farming communities and influencers of western India in climate-smart agriculture principles and techniques in one year. This includes working on SDG1, 2, 12, 13 and 15.

Task description

Selected Online Volunteers may work in team to fine tune the already developed Project Proposal of Sustainable Agriculture. Online volunteers may given the details of Expression of Interest (EOI) published on sustainable agriculture domain. Depending upon the requirements mentioned in EOI, volunteers are expected to prepare the final grant proposal. For instance, one of the volunteer may work on including the concept of Climate Smart Agriculture in project proposal and may also work on adding its expenses to the budgets. Second one may work on Monitoring and Evaluation plan of the project, Third one may work on very simple budget template. Fourth one will work to verify all the things are as per EOI expectations and to do so he/she may work with all other three volunteers. The Online Volunteers will not be requested to make donations in-kind or financial contributions or to solicit donations from third parties.
