Key to successful project delivery is the ability to mobilise at speed; CTG can source and deploy anyone, anywhere, in less than 2 weeks and have done so in 48 hours on a number of occasions.

Role objectives
  • Conduct training need assessment and develop training calendar

  • Provide an exclusively designed, training of Trainers (ToT) for CLTS teams to provide learning opportunity on CLTS approaches including community level action planning and effective behavior change and strategic methodologies that can be used during implementation of the CLTS program activities

  • Conduct CLTS initial and refresher, hygiene behavioral change trainings, sessions on school hygiene sanitation competitions, community cleanup/sanitation campaigns and assure implementation of CLTS protocol for Afghanistan and other related trainings at the national and subnational level for pertinent staff, provincial level and NGO partners when and required

  • Coaching during initial trainings in the field

  • Provide technical assistance for planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of CLTS related activities

  • Provide support to the provincial team in the follow up, Open Defecation Free (ODF) verification, certification, declaration ceremonies at the community level and whenever wherever was required

  • Work closely with SBC extenders to develop, test and scaling up of innovative behavioral change communication/ community engagement strategies that will lead to sustainable hygiene behavioral changes

  • Provide assistance and backing to the provincial team during the supportive supervision visits

  • Preparation of ad-hoc reports, briefs and/or presentations as needed

  • Documenting and sharing lessons learned and best practices of the program

  • Supervise & monitor the use of IEC materials in the field

  • Conduct coaching and mentoring at the field

  • Any other assignment given by the management

Further information

Qualification and skills:

  • At least Bachelor’s degree holder from a recognized institute

  • Proven experience of training, CLTS and other health and sanitation related trainings with high preferability

  • Water and sanitation expert, public health expert, training expert

  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in training, preferably in WASH, CLTS

  • Fluent in English, Dari & Pashto

  • Excellent analytical and report writing skills

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with proven abilities to train mobilizers/ communities
