Overview of position
Role objectives

Strategy Development

  1. Conceptualise, design, and develop a strategy specific to the needs of gender-based violence and trafficking survivors, unaccompanied migrant children (UMC) and others in vulnerable situations.

  1. Coordinate and consult with relevant project teams to inform strategy development to ensure all  activities are considered and incorporated for a mission-wide approach.

  1. Ensure timely preparation and collection of any documents necessary to produce the strategy and for legal and judicial support.

  1. Organize relevant consultations, including with migrants assisted, and external partners to identify gaps and address by providing a mapping of services and support systems that exist in Tunisia for legal referrals and processes.

  1. Assist in the organization of seminars, meetings and training sessions – in particular the trainings for lawyers, law professors and CSOs– taking care of all administrative and logistical details, in close consultation with staff and the Lawyer in Tunis and in cooperation with the Lawyer in Zarzis and Sfax and assisting the latter in the development of  methodological and substantive details.

  1. Ensure discretion and confidentiality regarding the personal data of beneficiaries, in line with Protection Principles.

  1. Identify issues and report them to the supervisor in a timely manner with recommendations for resolution.

Deliverables and deadlines:

At the end of the consultancy, the outputs delivered are:

  • A finalized mission-wide strategy outlining the context, gaps, appropriate responses, and the procedures related with meeting the needs of migrants in vulnerable situations including gender-based violence and trafficking survivors and unaccompanied migrant children (UMC).

  • A public-facing information document outlining the processes for securing rights in Tunisia.

  • The organization of training for lawyer.

  • The organization of the training for Professors.

  • The organization of the training for CSOs.

  • Organizing and executing at least 3 monthly informational sessions for migrants to understand their rights in Tunisia and learn of the pathways to regularizing stay in Tunisia.

  • A final consultancy report that is evaluative of the work completed during the contractual duration.
