Role objectives |
Develop a lesson plan for migrant children that addresses important areas of children’s readiness and support for school, including: language and communication, literacy, cognitive development and general knowledge, social and emotional development, motor development, attitudes toward learning and more, and adapt the plan to individual child’s needs;
Supervise classes to ensure all students are learning in a safe and productive environment;
Plan learning activities based on the needs of each group and specific individual needs within the group.
Organize daily (non-formal) educationaland recreational activities for children, with parent participation;
Promote student’s motivation by providing educational guidance and meaningful learning experiences.
Liaise with community education, adult education, and lifelong education initiatives both on-site and in collaboration with local actors.
Facilitate children’s integration in formal schools (includingArabic language courses and support classes);
Support migrant children with additional required school subjects and support with school homework and related tasks to ensure that children can adapt and perform in school;
Coordinate internally and with relevant authorities onchild protection issues relevant to the position;
In collaboration with Staff, provide briefings to children and hold parents meeting for those going to enrol in formal school;
Provide monthly report consisting of a brief description of activities, progress, challenges, attendance list, photos and recommendations for improvements;
Ensure that all relevant project data (attendance lists, lesson plans, schedules, etc.) is accurately collected, archived and updated on a daily and weekly basis, including breakdown reports on age and gender.
Create and maintain a strong link with formal education opportunities for adults and compile and education-specific service mapping for the area, ensuring that information about administrative and other enrollment processes reach shelter teams and beneficiaries.
Collaborate closely with Sub-Office teams and all on-site actors, to jointly address communities' needs and consider how education programmes can reduce tensions and increase community cohesion.
Undertake any other duties assigned and travelas required.

Further information |
Ability to work in a team setting and excellent commutation skills;
Previous experience working with migrants and children;
Previous experiences in teaching and learning activities in related areas of intervention is an advantage.
