STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Advanced University degree in Political Science, International Development, Development Economics, Marketing Communications or another relevant field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses.

Experience: At least 6 years of relevant work experience with a university degree 

Language: Fluency in written and spoken English and Turkish.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

These jobs are found in Country Offices (COs), and typically report to the Head of Partnerships Officer and Operational Information Management (OIM) unit. Job holders are likely to be working closely with a more experienced professional staff member, receiving guidance and regular feedback on work performed.

JOB PURPOSE

To support the development of new and existing donor partnerships and maximise resources raised to support WFP programmes; To support all Operational Information Management and Performance Reporting (OIM & PR) activities and contribute to the establishment and presentation of standard operating picture of WFP programme portfolio and associated results.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

OIM

  • Support staff in the assigned areas to ensure that standard OIM & PR procedures and templates are followed to drive the quality, consistency and standardisation of information management and performance reporting across WFP.
  • Draft OIM products such as reports, briefs, dashboards and infographics for internal and external audiences, in line with corporate guidelines and local needs.
  • Collaborate with counterparts internally and with other UN agencies to ensure consistency in humanitarian information and to complement WFP analysis and information.
  • Support the development, implementation and assurance of defined quality standards in all processes and products.
  • Other as required.

Partnerships

  • Contribute to the management of a portfolio of partnerships, providing coordination, data and analysis to support the effective solicitation of contributions, donor stewardship and assessment of results.
  • Support the development of proposals including current donors and prospective donors including but not limited to BPRM, DG Near, GCC Countries, etc.
  • Collate data and contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely donor reports.
  • Support the coordination of donor meetings, including preparing for and accompanying donor visits in the field when required
  • Coordinate work with other partnership officers and colleagues from other functional areas to ensure information is shared, activities are aligned, and donor conditions (e.g., reporting, visibility) are met.
  • Ensure all work is documented through corporate tools (e.g., Salesforce) to maximise results and ensure business continuity.

Resource Mobilisation Analyses relevant technical data and prepares briefs to raise resources for operations, negotiates contributions and keeps donors informed of key policies. Ensures and oversees timely registration of contributions and forecasts, aiming for accuracy and conformity with donors' documentation and WFP's rules.
Business Process Support & Technical Guidance Provides technical support to other business areas, identifying procedural issues and solutions. Applies understanding to ensure system maintenance and to support the design and implementation of system changes, supporting users and ensuring relevant training and materials are provided as necessary.

OTHER SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

  • Understanding of humanitarian/development operations, including key concepts of project cycle management and programming;
  • Understanding of humanitarian/development donor landscape;
  • Excellent drafting and editing skills in English;
  • Knowledge of Salesforce an asset.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Job location: Ankara, Turkey

Remuneration: A competitive compensation and benefits package is offered. 

Annual Leave Entitlement : 1.83 days per month. 

Maternity Leave: 16 weeks

Paternity Leave: The SC holder must have had at least 6 months of uninterrupted service under Service Contract modality with WFP at the time of the birth of the child to qualify for Paternity leave; 28 days may be taken at any time from the date of birth of a child to the end of 12th month of the child’s life.

Medical Insurance: Private comprehensive medical insurance plan for staff members and dependents (spouse, child or children)

Duration of the contract: 12 months (possible extension)
