OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

The Partnership for Maternal, Newborn & Child Health (PMNCH) provides a platform for diverse organizations from donor agencies, national governments, the UN, academia,NGOs, the private sector, youth organizations and other groups to align objectives, strategies and resources, and to agree on evidence for action to support the attainment of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, including through Universal Health Coverage and Primary Health Care. Effective communication among partners is central to this mission. The immediate strategic objective of this work is to provide technical expertise to the development of digital communication platforms and contribute to the improvement of the website and other digital channels, in line with goals expressed PMNCH's own Strategy and annual workplans.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

The Communications Officer (Digital) will support PMNCH's work in increasing partner communication and collaboration. Key responsibilities include:Manage the content and develop improvements around user experience and design in WHO's content management system, Sitefinity, liaising between PMNCH's team and the Department of Communications (web and Digital Content Experience teams) Contribute to content update for the new website in line with Sitefinity templates, structure and WHO domain model. Align PMNCH's goals with the different platforms and features on the website and other channels. Contribute to the development of Digital Advocacy Hubs for partner communication and collaboration, which will include the implementation and management of CRM/collaboration tools and its alignment with the content management system for the website. Participate in the creation of digital content, including but not limited to events, infographics, social media materials, videos, podcast and feature stories. Edit content for search engine optimization. Strategic coordination of social media accounts for PMNCH, including the development and execution of social media campaigns in coordination with partners. Increase PMNCH's outreach through newsletter and/or other modalities, targeting partners and other interested parties based on interests and needs. Gather analytics information on website use, social media engagement, newsletter outreach and other digital channels and products, to help refine digital outreach efforts. Participate in efforts on digitalization of processes for external and internal collaboration via tools, such as SharePoint. Follow trends in the digital space, particularly in social media and virtual events, through the adoption of adequate monitoring tools, to take advantage of new opportunities for PMNCH outreach.Perform all other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Essential: A first level university degree in public health, international relations, communications, business innovation or related field.

Experience

Essential: At least 5 years's working experience in the field of communications, including the use of digital tools, including Web and communication platforms administration. Experience in the development of global communication strategies including engagement through digital tools. Demonstrated experience in virtual events, social media content and management, digital content creation e.g. infographics, videos. Experience in developing innovative projects based on organizational needs.
Desirable: Technical experience on Content Management System, analysis of web performance, organizational branding.

REMUNERATION

WHO salaries for staff in the Professional category are calculated in US dollars. The remuneration for the above position comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 62,692 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable), a variable post adjustment, which reflects the cost of living in a particular duty station, and currently amounts to USD 4268 per month for the duty station indicated above. Other benefits include 30 days of annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.
