UNODC's mission is to contribute to global peace and security, human rights and development by making the world safer from drugs, crime, corruption and terrorism.

Context

For two decades, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has been helping make the world safer from drugs, organized crime, corruption and terrorism. UNODC is committed to achieving health, security and justice for all by tackling these threats and promoting peace and sustainable well-being as deterrents to them. Because the scale of these problems is often too great for states to confront alone, UNODC offers practical assistance and encourages transnational approaches to action. UNODC does this in all regions of the world through our global programmes and network of field offices. The Office is committed to supporting Member States in implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at its core. The 2030 Agenda clearly recognizes that the rule of law and fair, effective and humane justice systems, as well as health-oriented responses to drug use, are both enablers for and part of sustainable development. The main objective of UNODC global programme GLOK01 is to decrease the risk of drug use and other health and social outcomes among young people through evidence-based prevention especially relying on improving family functioning, bonding and communication. GLOK01 is the main operational arm through which the Prevention, Treatment and Rehabilitation Section of UNODC promotes prevention of drug use that is based on scientific evidence. It includes two main components: 1.On a Global Level: to develop and disseminate standards and guidelines, 2.On a National and Regional Level: to consolidate and coordinate efforts to pilot and implement evidence-based prevention activities, focusing on the family and school, and based on the standards and guidelines. The main outputs of this global project are the development and dissemination of the International Standards on Drug Use Prevention to policy makers as well as the piloting of evidence-based family skills prevention programmes, life skills education in schools and community-based prevention in low- and middle-income countries. The family skills output of this global programme has been in operation since 2010 and is currently active in 21 countries in: - Central America (Panama, Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Dominican Republic) - Central Asia (Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan) - South East Europe (Albania, Serbia, FYRO Macedonia, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina) - South America (Brazil) As well as collaboratively with other UNODC regional programmes in Iran, Pakistan and Afganistan Sustainable Development Goals: 3. Task description

There are three requested tasks-these can be performed by one person or three. Task 1: An expert interviewer will run an online interview with a Ukrainian speaking parent. An online volunteer is requested to interpret throughout the one hour interview both the interviewers questions and also the response from the parent. Task 2: An online volunteer will transcribe the final interview script into English (written document produced of transcription). Task 3: Existing written materials are available in English. We require translation support to produce a Ukrainian translation. ***All Online Volunteers that support these tasks will be mentioned by name (in thanks and acknowledgments) in the publication of all reports produced from these tasks on UNODC publication***
