Purpose:

It is high on UNICEF Georgia agenda to bridge the communication gap between Azeri patients and Georgian doctors in maternities, caused by the language barrier. The intern’s tasks will focus on mediating communication, drafting, and editing relevant content in Azeri language.

  • Support the UNICEF Georgia Health Specialist in planning communication activities and campaigns for Azeri women and maternity doctors.
  • Support developing and editing communication products including social media content, human interest stories, and web blogs for Azeri-speaking population.
  • Support the translation and transcribing of materials and content in Azeri, Georgian and English languages.
  • Help draft reports on completed activities.
  • Provide other assistance to the Health Section as required.

Supervisor: Health and Nutrition  Specialist

Modality: Part-time / Fulltime

Duration: 3 months – 6 months

Stipend: In accordance to UNICEF's guidelines, interns will be paid a nominal stipend per month. There is no expectancy of employment at the end of the internship. 

Insurance:
UNICEF will not be responsible for costs arising from accidents and/or illness incurred during the intern's service, whether on or off UNICEF premises. Therefore, the selected candidate must provide proof of enrolment in a health/accident plan prior to start his/her work. If accepted, the intern will be required to provide a copy of health insurance coverage and to fill out the relevant UNICEF forms on conditions regarding service as an intern.

 To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Be enrolled in an advanced/undergraduate university degree (Bachelor’s or higher) pogramme in a medical, sociological or related field.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Fluency in English and Azeri is required. Knowledge of Georgian language is an asset.
