Electrical Supervisor

Function:

 

Conducts maintenance, fault finding and diagnostics on existing low voltage systems, to include 3 phase up to 400v and new installations, including lightingPerforms all work to current UK standards and maintains safety guidelines in compliance with IET codes and regulationsResponsible for daily management of local national electricians.    

 

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Supervises a team of 12 workers delivering the required technical works and services.  This includes prioritizing, scheduling and supervising tasks where practicable, competency training, performance management, absence and roster management, skills assessments, setting performance standards, providing a clean and safe working environment and ensuring equipment maintenance records are updated. Ensuring prescribed health and safety practices and procedures are adhered to, including but not limited to, conduct of startup meetings, toolbox talks, safety walk throughs, up to date risk assessments and work method statements. 

 

  • Diagnoses and repairs electrical problems.   

 

  • Conducts routine maintenance, inspection and testing on electrical systems. 

 

  • Ensures compliance with organizational safety requirements, including permit systems and lockout/tag out, toolbox briefs, safety briefs and Risk Assessment Methods Statements 

 

  • Maintains allocated equipment, tooling in accordance with organizational standard operating procedures. Ensures hygiene and cleanliness of workshops and workspaces.  

 

  • Uses SAP to accurately record work order status, material ordering, and work hours as well as place orders for components and assemblies.    

 

  • Provides 24 hour “on call” support when required to meet emergencies or mission requirements, and cover ‘emergency callout’ duty period when rostered.  

 

The successful candidate will hold City and Guilds qualifications, with 10 years of experience in electrical systems and power distribution panels, including 3 years of supervisory experience. Be able to interpret blueprints, prepare electrical schematic drawings and statements of work. Be familiar with SAP to record work status and order materials. Be fluent in written and spoken English.
