Role objectives |

Plan and lead all DTM activities in his/her designated geographical areas in close collaboration with the DTM Operation assistant, Operations Officer and DTM Coordinator.

Closely coordinate with the DTM Operation Officer and Head of Sub-Office to keep them informed on DTM field activities and challenges.
-
Supervise and evaluate the DTM Enumerator (s) performance and share feedback with DTM Operation assistant, Operations Officer, and DTM Coordinator on a weekly basis.

Contact the DTM Enumerator(s) on a daily/weekly basis to monitor their progress and modify their work plans, as necessary, in coordination with the DTM Operation assistant, Operations Officer and DTM Coordinator.

Prepare and send bi-weekly narrative reports and assessment/survey progress summaries on all DTM activities to the DTM Operation assistant and Operations Officer.

Accompany the DTM Enumerator(s) in the field one day per week, to monitor their performance and help them improve their capacity.

four days per week, travel to the field, to conduct relevant assessments/surveys and assess multi-sectoral conditions (e.g. security, economic, employment, shelter, health, WASH, education, etc.) through direct observation in designated geographical areas where the populations of concern exist, as per the responsibilities of the DTM Enumerator.

Act as the DTM focal point in his/her designated geographical area, liaising, coordinating and mainstreaming DTM with relevant local authorities and humanitarian, NGO and governmental partners, as well as displaced, return and host populations.

Oversee the data entry process and ensure that the data is encoded accurately into the system in a timely manner, physical forms/questionnaires are properly archived, and data is regularly backed up.

Monitor inconsistencies, inaccuracies, and omissions in data submitted by DTM Enumerators and communicate proactively with them to ensure accurate data collection.

Encode the collected data into the Kobo system using PC or mobile devices (tablet/smartphone), when applicable and necessary.

Further information |

Completed university degree in Social Science, Business Administration, or any other relevant field.
- Minimum three years’ experience in conducting community and household assessments and surveys
- Minimum three years’ experience in managing and supervising teams in the field
- Previous experience in working with or liaising with the Afghan Government, UN agencies, NGOs, and military counterparts is an advantage
SKILLS:
- Ability to conduct an interview, administer a questionnaire or register a person with neutrality, empathy and professionalism
- Demonstrated knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google Earth, the internet and email is required
- Excellent knowledge of the geography and culture of his/her designated geographical areas of operation – residence in the same geographical area of operation is preferred and an advantage
- Experience with GPS and mobile data collection technologies, including Kobo or Open Data Kit (ODK) applications, is an advantage

- Dari, Pashto and English– required
- Any other local or UN language – desirable
