What we do

 

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works worldwide to provide humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict and armed violence. We take action in response to emergencies and at the same time promote respect for international humanitarian law. We are an independent and neutral organization, and our mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. We work closely with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and with their International Federation in order to ensure a concerted, rational and rapid humanitarian response to the needs of the victims of armed conflict or any other situation of internal violence. We direct and coordinate the international activities conducted in these situations. 

 

Your role

 

The Talent Acquisition Unit is in charge of sourcing, attracting, and recruiting specialist and generalist staff to meet the ICRC's needs. 
As a team, we put “stakeholder management”, “candidate experience” and “mutual support” at the centre of our daily work. 

 

We are looking for an experienced recruiter to join our team based in Geneva at ICRC HQ, tasked with meeting the talent needs of the institution. You will play a key role in building relationships and acting as a trusted partner with internal hiring managers and the candidates, as well as delivering high-quality service throughout the entire recruitment cycle, and constantly looking at improving our practice as we grow and transform as an organization. Above all, you will be part of an ambitious, driven and quality-focused global Talent Acquisition & Sourscing team, responsible for attracting and hiring ICRC’s most important asset – its people.

 

The recruiter is responsible for the delivery of the end to end Talent Acquisition service for a given portfolio of populations in line with the operational needs: proactively tracking human resources needs, designing appropriate assessment approaches, assessing candidates' applications, conducting interviews, and making recruitment decisions in conjunction with the units concerned or with Operations. 


 

Main responsibilities

 

  • Partner closely with, and be the trusted adviser to Métiers and all hiring partners on all activities related to Talent Acquisition 
  • Engage with and ensure a best-in-class candidate experience throughout the whole recruitment process
  • Share knowledge and best practice, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Talent Acquisition activities and tools
  • Serve as a standard-setting expert, proposing assessment solutions (pre-recorded interviews, online tests, language tests, interviews) with a coaching approach to ensure stakeholder engagement & a thorough process. 
  • Maintain accurate recruitment data, and perform regular recruitment trend analysis
  • Master the use of the recruitment module of our HRIS (Success Factors) and other relevant tools
  • Support the employer branding and act as a Digital Ambassador of the ICRC on platforms such as LinkedIn
  • Participate, and lead as assigned, on development work and project streams across the HR Division

 

Your education and previous experience

 

  • University degree or equivalent in human resources or business administration.
  • A significant and proven experience in in-house recruitment with an international exposure
  • Proven ability to manage large scale recruitments (which includes great organisation skills and prioritisation)
  • Previous experience interviewing and working for multicultural environments
  • Previous experience in the humanitarian and/or voluntary sector a very strong asset
  • Excellent command of English mandatory. Knowledge of French is a strong asset.
  • Computer literate and experience in the use and maintenance of applicant tracking systems and databases, preferably Success Factors.
