The Consortium was established in December 2021 by the initiative of three international NGOs; ACF, Solidarite International (SI) and Norwegian Refugee Council following the identified need for a cooperative and complimentary emergency response in the Northern Province Cabo Delgado in Mozambqiue. At present the Consortium programmes are financed by ECHO solely. In early 2021 NRC started its operations in Northern Mozambique – Cabo Delgado Province, a province that has been witnessing a large number of IDPs due to conflict. NRC has obtained its registration in Mozambique mid-May 2021 and has established two offices: a coordination office in Pemba, city the capital of Cabo Delgado, and a field office in Mueda (district in Cabo Delgado) where the main interventions are taking place.
