CTG recruits, deploys and manages the right people with the right skills to implement humanitarian and development projects, from cleaners to obstetricians, and mechanics to infection specialists, we’re skilled in emergency response to crises such as the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. Key to successful project delivery is the ability to mobilise at speed; CTG can source and deploy anyone, anywhere, in less than 2 weeks and have done so in 48 hours on a number of occasions.

Through our efficient and agile HR, logistical and operational services, CTG saves multilateral organisations time and money. We handle all our clients’ HR related issues, so they are free to focus on their core services.

Role objectives
  • Attending births and providing care for infants directly after birth.

  • Evaluating and overseeing the care of infants in the Neonatal Care Unit.

  • Monitoring the health of infants suffering from medical issues relating to birth, such as prematurity or congenital defects.

  • Performing tests and obtaining and evaluating the results.

  • taking patient samples, pulses, temperatures, and blood pressures.

  • monitoring and administering medication, injections, and treatment for the neonates

  • advising about and supporting parents in the daily care of their newborn babies

  • Providing treatment and administering medication as proscribed by the Neonatal Care unit physician.

  • Documenting patient history.

  • Running and maintaining the equipment in the Neonatal Unit.

  • Educating new parents on the care of their new infants; for example, breastfeeding, nutrition, and food demonstration.

  • Communicating with parents or guardians about the care and medical procedures related to their infant.

  • Providing vaccination for the neonates in the unit Heb B, BCG and OPV for the first 24 hours.

  • Register the neonates and issue BR cards for the children.

  • Provide history and information’s of the patient for the death case review committee

Further information
  • Graduates from Midwifery or Nursing institute.

  • Having MoPH exit exam license.

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in the Neonatal Units/Genecology ward.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of NICU equipment, such as a ventilator, incubator, Warmer, phototherapy, oxygen concentrator and feeding pumps.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • A caring and compassionate attitude towards new parents and their infants.
