Role objectives

Assists the security/operations manager in supervision as assigned;

  • Maintain an updated list of all staff in the country including all the details of visiting staff and consultants.

  • Ensure that staff members are kept informed of matters affecting their safety and security and making appropriate arrangement for briefing newly arrived consultants.

  • Establish security coordination/liaison with the local security authorities and Develop good contacts with national law enforcement agencies, with a view to obtain the best possible protection for staff members deployed in the country as well as those on mission.

  • Monitors both land and air emergency evacuation capability; assist, conduct of evacuation exercises in case required.

  • Assists in the evaluation accessible areas; maintain tracking systems and assist in the coordination of a 24-hour Emergency Response System;

  • Assist, prepare and maintain an updated security plan including contingency plans for the team in accordance with security SOPs

  • Cooperate closely on security matters with the local law enforcement authorities and work in line with their SOPs.

  • Maintains continuing lines of communication with security/operations manager and other senior management members.

  • Assists security/operations manager in briefing on the status, activity and requirements that may newly arise.

  • Ensures that fire prevention devices and fire-fighting equipment are available on the premises; Maintains fire evacuation plan and conducts fire drills and training as necessary;

  • Conducts routine physical security inspections of facilities

This role reports to the Security/ Country operations Manager

    Develops clear goals that are consistent with agreed strategies; identifies priority activities and assignments; adjusts priorities as required; allocates appropriate amount of time and resources for completing work; foresees risks and allows for contingencies when planning; monitors and adjusts plans and actions, as necessary.

Geographical experience:

  • Minimum of 3 year of experience in Africa (essential).

Languages:

  • Fluency in English and Arabic is essential.

Education

  • An equivalent of technical or vocational training studies.

This role reports to the Security/ Country operations Manager
