Mission and objectives

The main priority of the Regional Hub is to provide UNDP Country Offices in Asia and the Pacific with easy access to knowledge through high quality advisory services based on global applied research and UNDP lessons learnt. The second priority is to build partnerships and promote regional capacity building initiatives, which allow UNDP, governments and other development partners to identify, create and share knowledge relevant to solving urgent development challenges. The Bangkok Regional Hub mainly focuses on support to Democratic Governance, Environment & Energy, Crisis Prevention and Recovery, Poverty Reduction with an overarching effort on achieving the Millennium Development Goals.

Context

UNDP Bangkok Regional Hub (BRH) supports 24 country offices to implement programmes to alleviate poverty and reduce income parity while improving gender equality, governance, and sustainable management of natural resources. The Regional Communications team invites UN Online Volunteers to contribute to the work of UNDP in Asia and the Pacific by supporting the Bangkok Regional Hub to ensure the documents are of the highest quality when shared with partners, donors and the public. Through stronger communications, UNDP showcases the progress toward SDGs, highlights donor and partner contributions to our work and promotes cross-cutting issues of innovation, digitalization and inclusion across all UNDP's programmes.

Task description

We are seeking the support of Online Volunteers with English proofreading experience to edit and proofread draft project documents, project proposals and communication and knowledge products of up to 50-60 pages. While Volunteers should provide constructive feedback and suggestions on the style, tone, flow and coherence of documents, BRH assumes full responsibility for approving the documents' final version. Consultations will be emailed through the coordinator at BRH, including feedback iterations and a deadline for finalizing the mentioned documents. The BRH will fully credit Online Volunteers on the final product.
