The Role

Lead in managing the LMH’s digital health strategy and team in Liberia, including the support to the government of Liberia to roll out a nationwide digital health and education initiative to 4,000 Community Health Workers (CHWs) and their 400 supervisors (CHSSs). The Director is responsible for managing all Liberia-based Digital Health staff, strategically engaging with the Ministry of Health, building, and executing digital health solutions, and achieving and reporting on departmental targets in Liberia

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee the digitization of M&E systems for Liberia's National Community Health Assistant Program (NCHAP). Manage external contractors and vendors to build electronic M&E tools for impact measurement (Last Mile Survey) and NCHAP monitoring (Community Based Information System, Implementation Fidelity, Community Events Based Surveillance).
  • Oversee LMH’s support to the MoH’s ICT unit to create, implement, and maintain mobile device management systems and policies.
  • Collect, analyze, and integrate user and staff feedback to improve quality and regularly go on field visits to understand deployment problems and opportunities.
  • Coordinate departmental innovation (Research and Development) including digital payments, supply chain, modular sensors, and new hardware and software solutions.
  • Lead the Liberia-based Digital Health team toward achieving the department's targets on time and at quality in both LMH’s Managed and Assisted Networks.
  • Lead in the design and updating of DH Operational plan and ensure team members achieve participation in operational plan.
  • Represent Liberia’s Digital Health work to donors, partners and other external audiences and provide support to donor reporting as needed.
  • Provide government partners with technical assistance to plan, design, and deploy eCBIS and digital tools to over 4,000 CHAs and 400 supervisors in the National CHA Program.
  • Establish LMH as a leading digital health partner within the MoH and key stakeholders in Liberia.
  • Support the MoH and the NCHS Team to transfer ownership of the digital health initiative to the government of Liberia.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree, with significant training in computer science or management information systems. A degree in management is a plus.
  • 5-8 years of relevant work experience, including 3 years directly managing other staff and 3 years engaging government partners. especially in DH.

You’ll Impress Us If

  • You have significant experience managing teams and projects and are a clear and efficient team lead, communicator, and collaborator.
  • You have experience managing software vendor relationships and directing vendor workstreams
  • You have experience with government partner engagement, communication, negotiation, and collaboration
  • You have experience working in a low-middle income country; experience in rural Africa is preferred
  • You have business analytic skills, including intermediate skills with excel, Microsoft Office and GSuite, and project management software.

OVERVIEW OF LAST MILE HEALTH’S COMPENSATION MODEL

Compensation for this position:

The Band for this position: Band 4

For Liberia national staff, the salary range is $51,000  to $ 75,000 depending upon experience doing an equivalent role.

For International staff, the salary range is $81,000 to $105,000. The compensation difference for international staff members reflects the duplicative costs of living that they will incur upon moving to Liberia.
