The Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships (MSP) team in UNICEF’s Private Fundraising and Partnerships Division (PFP), leads on UNICEF’s engagement with private sector and public-private initiatives and platforms that are actively shaping global agendas, priorities and investments. The team is responsible for managing partnerships and leading engagement strategies for partnership development with global, regional and national platforms that can serve as catalysts and accelerators for country and regional offices and relevant HQ divisions in reaching, influencing, mobilizing and partnering with the private sector to achieve better results for children.

The Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships (MSP) team in UNICEF’s Private Fundraising and Partnerships Division (PFP), leads on UNICEF’s engagement with private sector and public-private initiatives and platforms that are actively shaping global agendas, priorities and investments. The team is responsible for managing partnerships and leading engagement strategies for partnership development with global, regional and national platforms that can serve as catalysts and accelerators for country and regional offices and relevant HQ divisions in reaching, influencing, mobilizing and partnering with the private sector to achieve better results for children.

How can you make a difference?

Planning and coordination: Support coordination within PFP and with regional, country and headquarters offices in relation to UNICEF’s engagement in key global platforms and events involving business, mainly the UN General Assembly in September. Activities include coordinating inputs for briefing packages, managing the SharePoint collaboration site, supporting follow-up from PFP coordination meetings, managing invitation processes for partner invitations to major events, and other relevant activities.

2. Knowledge management: Facilitates knowledge sharing related to engagements with key global platforms and initiatives including by saving and updating relevant documents in different systems (SharePoint, UNISON, Intranet and/or other identified collaboration tools).

3. Communications Supports the development of key messages related to engagements with multi-stakeholder platforms and initiatives for internal and external audiences. Provides inputs and develops content/articles for internal and external audiences.

4. Technical support in UNISON: Updates platform account information in UNISON (customer-relationship management system) and provides support to colleagues in PFP, National Committees, ROs/COs for platforms-related event invitations and bilateral meetings.

5. Additional support: Contributes to other priorities as needed.

Modality: Paid - Part-Time (50%)

Tentative start date: 15 July, 2022

Duration: 3 months

Reporting: The intern will be based remotely and will report to the Partnerships Specialist.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or Ph.D. degree programme or have graduated within the past two years, in international development, international relations, social sciences, business or public administration, marketing, communication/external relations or related field.

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

  • Professional experience at national or international level in partnership development, private sector engagement, or advocacy will be considered an asset.

  • Experience in effectively working with a diverse group of stakeholders and working on complex, multi-stakeholder partnerships involving the private sector, whether within the UN, Government, NGOs or the private sector, would be an asset.

  • Strong organizational and coordination skills.

  • Strong IT skills.

  • Fluency in English is required. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are required.

  • Knowledge of another UN language considered as an asset.

  • Have excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.

  • Have no immediate relatives (e.g. father, mother, brother, sister) working in any UNICEF office; and Have no other relatives in the line of authority that the intern will report to.
