Intensive Case Management Intern

SCOPE OF WORK: The primary role of the ICM Intern is to provide comprehensive, culturally appropriate client-centered case management services for program participants, including completing assessments, developing service plans, educating about community services and resources, and helping problem solve barriers to assist clients with reaching self-sufficiency in areas of vulnerability. This position is also responsible for assisting with administrative tasks including data collection and case file quality assurance. 


  • Conduct weekly communication with 2-4 ICM clients  
  • Use culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate communication with clients 
  • Connect clients to community resources and services, including medical providers 
  • Assist clients in completing applications for public benefits and financial assistance programs 
  • Document all client communication and services in appropriate databases 
  • Complete assessments and develop service plans with clients 
  • Coordinate with ICM case workers and other direct services teams within IRC 
  • Conduct quality assurance practices on existing client case files to ensure compliance with federal grant guidelines 


  • Gain basic case management skills 
  • Become comfortable utilizing interpretation services for client contact 
  • Gain understanding of local resources and services available for vulnerable populations 
  • Become proficient in conducting assessments and developing service plans with clients
