BACKGROUND: The International Rescue Committee is one of the leading providers of high quality programming for refugees resettling to the United States. The IRC is committed to developing innovative programs that respond to refugees' unique strengths and needs, using our learning and experience to shape policy and practice, and highlighting and promoting best practices in refugee service provision.
SCOPE OF INTERN WORK: The Framework Instructional Design intern will play an important role in transforming anti-labor-trafficking curriculum into an eLearning course. Staff development is one of IRC’s overarching strategic goals.
COMMITMENT: 20 hours/week for 3-5 months
RESPONSIBILITIES: Create, edit, and manage the development of eLearning courses using Articulate Storyline; provide design leadership in the creation and development of training materials; improve training content to provide a better user experience.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Coursework in instructional design, educational technology, or a related field required
· Experience working with the creation of educational materials
· Proven experience with graphic design and eLearning platforms and software (Articulate 360, video editing software, Vyond)
· Experience creating animations and integrating them into eLearning preferred
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. The intern will develop skills in creating multimedia projects for learning.
2. The intern will enhance training evaluation skills.
3. The intern will strengthen skills on designing and cultivating virtual training initiatives.
4. The intern will gain understanding of trauma-informed and dignity-focused representation as applied to instructional design.
This position reports to the Senior Program Officer, Framework.
