Internship Programme 2022 - UNDP Pakistan


The Democratic Governance Unit of UNDP Pakistan works to support democratic development and the rule of law in Pakistan. The Unit works toward improved governance at federal, provincial and particularly district levels by supporting the devolution and decentralization objectives through political and fiscal devolution, transparency and accountability, strengthening of state institutions, capacity and promotion of local participation and ownership.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision and guidance of the Hiring Manager, the intern will assist the Unit, based on an agreed work plan, tasks and achievements by performing the activities narrated below for the duration of the internship:
1. Support in the preparation of programmes and projects documents in assigned areas of responsibility.
2. Prepare documents and analyze innovative strategies and new approaches.
3. Support the innovation team in group discussions and assist in drafting proposals.
4. Actively liaise with all projects under DGU for timely reporting of deadlines.
5. Support research linked to delivery of programme and project as per agreed work planned
6. Provide administrative programme support to key activities of Programme Unit;
7. Provide support on the development of relevant communications materials;
8. Provide other assistance e.g. preparation and translation of documents and organizing meetings.
9. Develop the minutes of meetings
10. Assist in preparation of presentation material
11. Contribute to creation of project information.

  • The candidate must be enrolled/graduated from a post graduate programme (Master’s or higher) OR enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship programme and undertaking internship as part of the programme. The institution must be recognized by Higher Education Commission, Pakistan.
    Preferred major in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Business Studies will be preferred. Other relevant disciplines may be considered.

Language Requirements:

  • The candidate must be fluent in English and have both written and speaking skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Basic understanding of MS Office.
