Background of the project

AT the IRC, Child Protection and Education serve overlapping target populations: we both focus on children and youth. Additionally, our outcomes influence each other: if children are not safe, they will not learn well and if children are not in school, that presents a protection concern and exposes them to violence or abuse. Our joint work that informed the foundations of the Safe Healing and Learning Spaces toolkit is premised on this inter-dependability - that safe home environment and safe learning spaces both promote positive child development. Donors have increasingly recognized the importance of integration. We seek a consultant to support work to strategically position for integrated programs that promote protection and learning outcomes for children.
