Background:

The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe (POiD) is looking for additional Handymen to establish a roster of candidates willing to serve on a short-term basis in future. The incumbent will be responsible for daily routine services to the OSCE POiD Office.

NOTE: The selected candidates will be on a roster and might be contacted as per operational need.


Tasks and Responsibilities:

Under the overall supervision of the National Building Maintenance Officer, the successful candidate will be tasked with the following duties:

  1. Checking Mission offices state and its equipment (kitchen, WC, shredders, furniture) on the regular basis according to the schedule confirmed and distributing supplies of coffee, tea, milk, sugar; keeping control over A/C’s functioning, bulb replacement, technical state of the office premises;
  2. Collecting and distributing supplies of stationery, paper, foodstuff, ICT-equipment and other necessary equipment upon requests, receiving and distributing water bottles on the weekly basis, replacing water bottles in the water coolers throughout the Mission premises on the daily basis;
  3. Assembling and installing desks, shelves and other furniture in offices and other Mission areas; carrying out maintenance and repair work on furniture; minor work on other equipment;
  4. Participating in relocation processes; moving furniture and equipment, inspection them for repair; hanging up notice boards, TV-sets, pictures using relevant tools and fixings;
  5. Checking cleaning, household, refreshments supplies in stock and informing the supervisor when stocks are low, facilitatiing in order for the month relevant supplies;
  6. Installing sockets, switchers within office premises; minor sanitary engineering works;
  7. Preparing the Mission's conference rooms for official events and providing logistical support for events;
  8. Providing assistance with cleaning outside perimeter and HO forefront from snow and ice;
  9. Providing assistance in loading and unloading of equipment and materials;
  10. Performing other related duties as assigned.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • Completed secondary education;
  • One year of working experience in crafts, building/masonry, carpentry/woodwork, electrics or another trade;
  • Working experience with International Organizations is preferable;
  • Good knowledge of Russian and/or local language/s. Knowledge of English would be an asset;
  • Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, and an ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities
  • Ability and willingness to work as a member of team, with people of different cultural, and religious backgrounds, different gender, and diverse political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity.

 

Remuneration Package:

Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions, is 447.33 EUR. Social benefits will include participation in the Cigna medical insurance scheme.
