  1. Role and responsibilities

The purpose of the Human Resources/Administration Officer position is the day-to-day implementation of the Human Resources and Admin related responsibilities. The position holder will be implementing various matters related to talent acquisition, performance management, duty of care and operational HR activities in the area office.

 

Generic responsibilities

These responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. The responsibilities shall be short and essential. Details belong in the Work and Development plan.

  1. Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines
  2. Implement delegated Human Resources and Administration function portfolio according to the plan of action
  3. Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
  4. Ensure proper filing of documents according to the SSD policy
  5. Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function
  6. Support in the implementation of Human Resources and administrative systems and procedures at the area level
  7. Support in recruitment of staff, introductions, training, staff benefits schemes if requested
  8. Coordinate with relevant partners, suppliers, authorities when required
  9. Update staff records at the area office and ensure it is filed appropriately, and in compliance with NRC’s data protection obligations.

Specific responsibilities

  1. Support Human Resources department with the roll-out of NRC’s Induction package and NRC Way for staff at area level and support staff to complete all mandator training
  2. Support the Human Resources Manager in rolling out additional measures for the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA)
  3. Manage all staff leave and absences and share updated records with the Human Resources Manager on a monthly basis
  4. Work to promote gender equality in the organization, including through careful research of obstacles to female staff recruitment, retention, and promotion, in the local context.
  5. Ensure paper and electronic records are maintained in a systematic manner in line with NRC's standard procurement procedures, providing a clear auditable trail
  6. Establish and maintain good professional working relationships with landlords, service providers, and suppliers whilst strictly adhering to NRC's anti-corruption guidelines and NRC's code of conduct
  7. Support in implementing efficient management of office supplies and consumables
  8. Ensure that all NRC premises in the area are equipped and secured according to NRCs policies and standards 
  9. Support the area teams to recruit and manage casual workers, and ensure they receive required training (i.e., Code of Conduct), and sign all required documents for filing
  10. Promote a positive, safe and inclusive work environment for all Area Office staff, including through effective staff feedback mechanisms
  11. Support in the implementation of a capacity building plan to train and develop staff as an integral part of duties
  12. Make monthly updates to the staff contact list

  • Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or any other related field
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in the Human Resources function within related matters in Recruitment, personnel management and operational activities

  • Fluency in English, written and spoken
