Medical Doctor (m/f/d) - National Position

Malteser International (MI) is working in Myanmar since 2001 and currently employs more than 240 national staff in Rakhine, Shan and Kayin states, where our work aims at ensuring communities have access to primary health care services. We also offer comprehensive WASH and disaster risk reduction/climate change adaptation solutions and provide relief after disasters. We strive to enable and empower the most vulnerable communities in marginalized areas through a participatory and sustainable approach.

For its work in Maungdaw Program Office, Rakhine State, Myanmar, Malteser International is looking for a motivated Medical Doctor  (m/f/d) ) – National Position.

• Together with the Mobile Clinic Team conduct patient consultations, proper history taking, physical examination and provisional diagnosis
• Provide appropriate explanation of the condition and the treatment to the general population at the villages and observe medical ethics as well respect of patient confidentiality
• Manage and supervise daily clinic management including drug stock, request, storage and waste management according to MI procedures
• Ensure clinic registration, check follow up cases and provide monthly data on patient consultations
• Coordinate with Public Health Care (PHC) Manager for patients who need secondary care
• Prepare the Early Warning Alert and Response System (EWARS) report to State Health Department (SHD) /World Health Organization (WHO) as needed

• Licensed medical doctor
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply
• 1 year experience working with teams in community health desirable
• Excellent communication and pleasant interpersonal skills as well as competency to deal with the local health authorities
• Experience working with INGOs will be an asset
• Understanding of challenges faced by rural communities in relation to poor health and lack of knowledge

• Duty Station: Maungdaw Program Office, Rakhine State, Myanmar
• Duration of contract: until 30th April
• Salary according to qualification and experience: Plus, location specific allowance, 13th month salary, contract end benefit and health insurance package
