KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  • Provide specialized project management support to Kayah team to ensure that the various activities are performed to meet the established targets and follow WFP’s policies and procedures. 
  • Support and supervise team members to ensure individual and team objectives are delivered to agreed standards and deadlines.
  • Prioritize the workloads and shared among team member in order to manage workload that to be completed within the timeline.
  • Strengthen good collaboration and cooperation with WFP internal, multiple stakeholders and government departments if required.  
  • Perform officer-in-charge during the absence of Head of Field Office.
  • Organize and facilitate target communities for necessary criteria for food entitlement, facilitate beneficiary selection in order to ensure the food assistance effectively and efficiency for implementation of food assistance operation.

  • Provide the on-job training to WFP’s staff members and partners related to activity management, to ensure all staff member are aware and understand on Planning, implementation, morning and reporting, and other M&E related activities within the specific technical area.
  • Review and provide regular projects information for ongoing Planning, implementation, achievement and challenges to HOF and team members.
  • Monitor the activities, meet with communities and provide support and feedback for betterment of the implementation. 
  • Provide regular monthly distribution plan, monthly executive brief, Monthly distribution data and other project information to HOF and CO as required. 
  • Ensure programme activity database is timely updated, tracking sheet, monthly M & E data, COMET data entry, CEM and request approval for new inclusion and exclusion of beneficiaries as required.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by supervisor

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Completion of secondary school education. Preferable to have a university degree in development studies, public administration, social science, agricultural, international relations or other related functional areas.

Language

  • Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Myanmar.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of humanitarian assistance and development practice. General knowledge of UN system, policies, rules, regulations and procedures governing administration. Knowledge of the political, economic and social situation in Myanmar.
  • Knowledge of food security analysis and the data collection, treatment, and manipulation techniques typically associated with it;
  • Knowledge of advanced statistics methods and statistical analysis with ability to use statistical software packages (SPSS, SAS, STATA, etc.);
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook);

DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE

Preferable to have at least five years of progressively responsible experience of which at least three years closely related to Humanitarian Response and emergency preparedness, food security or other related field. Additional knowledge and experiences in the following areas is an advantage.

  • Has experience or basic knowledge of humanitarian policy and emergency preparedness
  • Has participated in implementing technical programs;
  • Has implemented programmes with increased level of responsibility; Has provided input to policy discussions.
