ACAPS is looking for 2 engaged Research Analysst to join its Ukraine Analysis Hub. This position can be filled in wherever there is an NRC Office in Ukraine (Dnipro, Lviv, Ternopil, Kyiv or other) or Poland.

Ukraine Analysis Hub

ACAPS is establishing a Ukraine Analysis Hub to provide impartial, independent, timely, and high-quality analytical products, which strengthen the evidence base for decision making and response programming among humanitarian stakeholders related to the crisis in Ukraine. To achieve this, ACAPS will put together a team of one Team Leader, two Senior Analysts, two Data Analysts, five Research Analysts, and three Data Collectors, with support from Expert Analysis Advisors and others within the organisation.

The Ukraine Analysis Hub will

Provide independent, high-quality analysis of the humanitarian crisis and response in Ukraine through building a platform connecting data and analysis of both local and international sources, in order to achieve a more nuanced, in-depth understanding of the humanitarian situation.

The role

Under the supervision of the Senior Analyst, the Research Analyst is expected to produce independent analysis products through implementing their own research activities including regular monitoring of the humanitarian situation, analysis design, secondary data review, qualitative analysis, and producing analysis. This person will also engage in joint analysis with international and local partners and collaborate with other analysis actors on research design and analysis.

Required skills, knowledge and experience

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree, preferably in humanitarian action, social sciences (anthropology, sociology, economics, political science, psychology, geography, etc.), area studies, international relations, public health, epidemiology or other relevant education
  • Previous experience (at least 2 years) in research, analysis, information management, advocacy, or other relevant experience in the humanitarian sector or related fields (development, international relations, social science, etc)
  • Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research and analysis methods (mixed and multi) and ease with handling large amounts of data
  • Written clarity, including ability to analyse complex concepts and synthetize information
  • Fluency in English and either Ukrainian or Russian, both written and verbal
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to organize multiple, simultaneous tasks, and deliver results within a specified period
  • Proven cooperation and inter-personal skills, including proven capacity to work very efficiently in a team
  • Ability to assess the reliability of information, identify internal and external biases, and adhere to independent and neutral nature of analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, manage own use of time and self-motivate
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Flexibility
