Malteser International (MI) is the international humanitarian relief agency of the Sovereign Order of Malta. Malteser International has been working in Nigeria since 2017. In Northeast Nigeria and more specifically in Borno State, MI is currently active in the WASH sector for improving the lives of both the internally displaced people (IDP) population as well as the host communities. The WASH activities focus on improved access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene. They include non-food item (NFI) distribution, solarization of boreholes, rehabilitation of hand pumps, construction of latrines and hygiene promotion. Malteser International thereby applies a participatory, gender sensitive and inclusive approach.

For its work in Borno, Jere, Mashamari Konduga and Pulka Nigeria, Malteser International is looking for a motivated Field Enumerator (m/f/d) – National Position.

Your responsibilities:

  • Support the Monitoring and Evaluation team in the collection of quantitative data (KAP Survey, Post Distribution Monitoring Surveys, etc.) and ensure accuracy of the data collected
  • Assist in the beneficiary data registration

Your profile:

  • Ordinary National Diploma in Social Sciences or an equivalent
  • Previous NGO experience in a similar setting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, initiative and problem-solving abilities as well as diplomacy
  • Have a good understanding of the local situation and community dynamics including cultural, gender and protection issues in Borno State especially Mashamari, Jere and Pulka
  • Oral and written fluency in English and Hausa, ability to effectively convey information in local languages of target locations (Kanuri, Mandara, Shuwa, etc.) would be an advantage
  • Computer literacy and expertise in entering, transcribing, recording, maintaining data/ information in written or electronic forms, previous enumeration experience preferred
