KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

Under the direct supervision of Programme Associate (Engineer) and overall supervision by the Head of Field Office in Myitkyina Field Office the incumbent will perform the following duties;

  • Liaise with cooperating partners and local authorities in the promotion of WFP activities in the project areas
  • Assist in planning, organizing, implementing and monitoring of WFP food distributions including data collection in the project area
  • Provide necessary basic information for the facilities of food/Cash distribution process of the project
  • Monitor and review the overall commodity movements such as food/cash deliveries, shortage, transport and distribution at the site and verify if the amounts received have been properly recorded, damaged or suspected to be damaged
  • Assist in all assessment activity, the information management process in support of the implementation of the programme in Field Office area
  • Assist market price monitoring system
  • Compile and continually up to date the FFA/CFA progress tracking sheet and a list of completed and ongoing projects and follow up activities 
  • Conduct necessary technical surveys, measurements, and design of FFA/CFA and NFI projects and analyze ways for livelihood improvement and sustainable development in an area; structures and follow up activities.

  • Monitor and inspect FFA/CFA and NFI projects, ensuring that relevant WFP norms are properly adopted, and supervise on-going FFA/CFA and NFI project to ensure that all contracts comply with technical specifications
  • Compile and continually update a list of completed and on-going Food/Cash for Community Asset Creation projects and follow-up activities
  • Work closely with Cooperating Partners (CPs) to ensure that projects contribute to the long-term development of village communities 
  • Update and upload Monitoring and Evaluation database on FFA/CFA/NFI activities
  • Perform accurate, timely recording of data within the specific technical area of work (e.g., food security and vulnerability assessments) following corporates standards and guidelines
  • Work and exchange information with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration, implementation and monitoring of ongoing project activities
  • Support communication and activities with local partner, agencies, NGOs and government institutions
  • Perform as a member of office committee, such as Bid Opening Committee, Market Assessment Committee, monthly commodities stock-taking, etc.
  • Perform any other appropriate duties as requested by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

EDUCATION

  • Completion of secondary education. Relevant post-secondary qualification will be an added advantage.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Four or more years of responsible programme and monitoring experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
     

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Proficient in the use of office equipment and computer software packages, such as Microsoft Word. 
  • Knowledge of work routines and methods to complete processes under minimal supervision. 
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously independently.
  • Proven ability to conceptualize, develop, plan and manage programs, leadership and teamwork skills, good analytical, communication, negotiation and advocacy skills;
  • Ability to work in a team and establish effective working relationships with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.

 

LANGUAGE 

  • Fluency in both oral and written communication in Myanmar and English.
