A CALL FOR ACTION – WE ARE CALLING FORTH FEMALE TALENTS IN THE EASTERN AFRICA & YEMEN REGION TO APPLY FOR OUR NEW FEMALE FUTURE PROGRAMME

 

NRC Female Future Programme is a tailormade Leadership Programme targeting local female staff. It is specifically dedicated to gender equality. It combines training, mentoring, and networking in person and online. It sets in relation talented female staff and women leaders.

Now we set sail with our first edition and are kicking of our pilot in the EA&Y country programmes. Therefore, we are looking for candidates to be part of this first cohort.

  • The pilot will be a 9-month programme – starting September 2022 – with 12-18 pairs
  • The candidates (Mentees) are selected based on defined criteria.
  • Senior female field leaders are called forth to volunteer as Mentors, supporting their more junior colleagues on their growth journey.
  • Mentors and Mentees are as far as possible matched according to the Mentees development needs and the Mentors previous experience and strengths as well as geographical considerations.
  • Mentors and Mentees are trained simultaneously. Female leaders into the Mentor role and female talent into future leadership roles.
  • Network persists after the programme. Pursuing fruitful Mentoring relationships and group exchanges will continue after the programme has ended.

Who are we looking for?

  • Current NRC female field staff in grade 6 or above
  • Currently having some line management responsibilities
  • Worked in NRC for minimum a year
  • Identified as a Talent by existing and/or previous line manager
  • Have an ambition to stay on in the organisation and grow into a more senior leadership position
  • Willing to take the lead on own development with the support of the organisation
  • Highly motivated for the programme and a wish to build self-awareness
  • Willing to prioritise own development and dedicate time and resources to participate in the programme and participate in all parts of the programme

How much time will I have to commit to invest to during the 9 months programme period?

  • Participation in a 2 day in-person workshop / seminar in Nairobi 21.-22. September 2022
  • Bi-weekly 1-hour on-line sessions with my Mentor
  • 4 half days on-line trainings in the period of October – March
  • In between sessions assignments – approx. 4-6 exercises
  • 2 days in person workshop / graduation in Nairobi in May 2023
