The Berghof Foundation has initiated a high-level conference series on peace making in the new era. This newly established 2-day and annually held conference aims to generate new and innovative ideas to enhance the transformative and preventive potential of mediation by bringing together international mediators, diplomats, state actors, policymakers, conflict parties and donors together with individual thought leaders from other sectors and disciplines. 
Through unique and different formats, focusing on one main geographic and thematic focus together with a diverse audience, this conference provides a deliberative space for strengthening and rethinking the concepts and practices of peacemaking, mediation and support to peace processes. The following ​multi-project manager role will work in full-time and will be based in Berlin.

Overview of the position:
Hours: full-time (40 hrs per week)
Starting date: immediately
Duration: limited contract for 12 months
Location: Berlin, Germany
Your main tasks
  • You work closely with the content lead of our new conference format
  • You will co-manage a team of several colleagues who will be responsible for fine-tuning the conference concept with you
  • You keep the overview, while your team colleagues support you in their respective parts of budget planning, monitoring, activities control as well as general milestone tracking
  • You will serve the team as trouble shooter and guide with your experience in setting up international conferences
  • You take over the negotiation with contractors for services that are particularly crucial for success
  • You will ensure that the quality aspects of purchased services and the necessary security guidelines for an international conference are impeccably met
  • Aligning in-house support to your team processes


Your knowlegde, experience & skills 

  • You hold a master's degree or a comparable academic degree that puts you in a suitable position in terms of business administration knowledge
  • You have 6+ years relevant work experience in a mid to senior managerial role
  • Your professional career clearly relates to the event sector or non-profit-sector
  • You have a proven track record for multi-project management and/or setting up large events (>200 participants at least)
  • Furthermore, you have a flexible and goal-oriented mindset
  • In your attitude towards staff caring staff management goes hand-in-hand with setting up efficient workflows and providing a supportive working environment
  • Excellent verbal and written language skills in English and German
  • Professional skills in the use of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Teams) complete your profile
  • Ability to work under high time-pressure
