Indonesia’s progress towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals Agenda requires bolder and bigger relevant and inclusive public information campaign. UNDP Indonesia’s communication unit plays an instrumental role to nurturing the branding of UNDP’s Leave No One Behind commitment. We are mandated to drive communicate and drive advocacy to the decision-maker and all groups of communities, including the most marginalised group. Candidates will be assessed by UNDP Human Resources team for the function of Social Media Support.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Support the Communications team to ensure effective use of online campaign and social media with following tasks:

  • Develops and translates UNDP’s current missions and activities into draft creative online campaigns, that pursue a balance of creativity and serving the purpose to mainstream SDGs for approval by supervisor.
  • Develops and creates draft content strategy for UNDP Indonesia’s social media for the flagship SDGs message, prominently in Instagram, Tiktok, and Linkedin.
  • Collects and produces draft content for social media platforms, in English and in Bahasa Indonesia and in various formats (e.g. infographic, video, etc.), including proposing topics, undertaking research, writing drafts, production of content (graphic design, audio/video editing, etc), obtaining clearances, editing copy, translation and coordinating design approval and distribution.
  • Creates periodic social media and online campaign reporting using simple analytic tools.
  • Liaises closely with graphic designer and SDG assistant for brainstorming and the Quality and Assurance of content production
  • Supporting head of unit in providing technical advises diverse UNDP Indonesia’s project regarding social media use and contents

2. Support strategic partnerships, communication and support to the implementation of resource mobilization

  • Updated database of the relevant public and development partners private sector, civil society and other stakeholders who are counterparts for the projects;
  • In coordination with supervisor and other relevant counterpart communications teams, support the design of infographics of the project activities as a tool to communicate results, deepen stakeholder knowledge and buy-in to the project, and resource mobilization for the project.

3. Supports the knowledge building and knowledge sharing focusing on achievement of the following results:

  • Participation in the trainings for the operations/ projects staff.
  • Contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice
  • Ensure active participation for learning and knowledge sharing in gender analysis and gender mainstreaming

4. The incumbent of the position should avoid any kind of discriminatory behaviour including gender discrimination and ensure that

  • Human rights and gender equality is prioritized as an ethical principle within all actions;
  • Activities are designed and implemented in accordance with “Social and Environmental Standards of UNDP”;
  • Any kind of diversities based on ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, disability, religion, class, gender are respected within all implementations including data production;
  • Differentiated needs of women and men are considered;
  • Inclusive approach is reflected within all actions and implementations, in that sense an enabling and accessible setup in various senses such as disability gender language barrier is created;
  • Necessary arrangements to provide gender parity within all committees, meetings, trainings etc. introduced.

Institutional Arrangement

Under the overall guidance of the Communication Specialist, the Social Media Coordinator provides timely and accurate clerical project support services.

  • Campaign Management: Ability to produce and implement communications and advocacy campaigns which lead to impactful change
  • Graphic Design: Ability to communicate visually and create appealing UNDP graphic products
  • Social Media Analytics: Ability to provide and use social media reporting to improve the social media content quality

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing/digital marketing or any social sciences/humanities subjects would be preferable or
  • High school degree with   4 years of relevant experience will be given due consideration in lieu of Bachelor’s degree

Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience with High School Education or
  • 1 year with Bachelor’s degree of relevant working experience with international institutions/organizations
  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc)
  • Experience in handling digital campaign and reporting

Additional Skills and Competencies:

  • Experience in working with digital agency institutions is highly desirable
  • Strong presence in terms of followers in social media platform, notably in Twitter, Tik Tok is desirable. 
  • Work experience with UN/ UNDP development projects is an advantage
  • Basic understanding of graphic design software is desirable
  • Good understanding of new and evolving technologies and digital platforms
  • Experience producing storytelling through design
