Data Management Specialist Lima, Peru/Nairobi, Kenya/Quito, Ecuador The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking a dynamic professional in fields related to Data science, Statistics or similar professional as Data Management Specialist to support the implementation of several of the One CGIAR Initiatives and other programs CIP is involved in, including the NATURE+ Initiative, Market Inteligence Initiative, Excellence in Agronomy Initiative and Andean Initiative.

About the role: The successful candidate will support the implementation of interdisciplinary research by providing key support to data handling, data analysis, statistical support and the preparation of publications. The position will be based in Lima (Peru), Nairobi (Kenya) or Quito (Ecuador) or any other country where CIP / the One CG has legal presence. The Data Management Specialist will report to a Senior Scientists at CIP.

Key responsibilities:

• Actively support a team of international researchers with data collection and análisis. • Support the data lifecycle of research from experimental design, data handling to analytics and data visualization.

• Prepare statistical tests and prepare summary tables and graphics.

• Manage and analyze datasets, visualize, and prepare results to be used in publications and reports. • Coordinate and/or contribute to data analysis in different settings for different types of datasets ranging from field experiments, surveys to citizen science.

• Design and implement data-based research to conduct market intelligence research on demand and preferences of end-users and consumers of food and agricultural products.

• Actively assist in the preparation of research papers and contribute to their writing. • Assist with capacity building activities, training events and workshops as needed.

• Comply with applicable health and safety CIP policies and procedures.

What are we looking for?

• MSc. degree in Data Science, Statistics or related field.

• At least 6 years of professional experience in data science and research.

• Solid knowledge of research designs, data analysis, statistical analysis and analytical software.

• Skills to work with interdisciplinary teams in the data cycle: experimental design to publishing. • Knowledge of research related to agriculture, agronomy, rural development or related fields. • Proficiency as a communicator with solid team player attributes.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (Advanced level).
