Our team and mission

The Communication Department is responsible for the definition of the ESA Communication strategy and policy and its implementation Agency-wide, in cooperation with ESA Directors and under guidance by the Director General. The Department provides communication support for the preparation of future programme decisions and for ensuring wide support for the Agency by significantly increasing the awareness of ESA and space among the general public, policy and decision makers as well as the science and engineering community in Member States. The Department is the Agency’s focal point for all interactions with media, managing media relations and video productions ESA-wide, and defining and managing the implementation of ESA policies on social media.

 

The Print Media and Merchandising Production Office, part of the Production and Management Support Division of the ESA Communication Department, is responsible for defining, developing and maintaining a catalogue of print and non-digital media to be produced by ESA to reach the general public. The Office is responsible for developing and managing, in close coordination with the Partnerships Unit, the relevant agreements and contracts with selected suppliers in order to consolidate the development of ESA promotional merchandise, ranging from online distribution to a franchising approach.

Reporting directly to the Head of the Print and Merchandising Production Office of the ESA Communication Department, you will support the Graphic activities of the office. You will report directly to the Head of Print Media & Merchandising Unit, and will support the Merchandising officer in developing and implementing” the franchising concept for the ESA Shops, aiming at positioning ESA in the world of Promotional Merchandising.

Education

You must have student status and be enrolled at university for the entire duration of the internship. You should preferably be in your final or second to last year of a university course at master’s level in a technical or scientific discipline.

Additional requirements

The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset.

 

Educational knowledge:

Knowledge and background in International Relations and project management would be an asset. The post is foreseen for a minimum of 3 months.
