NRC is looking for an Area Programme Manager to join the Myanmar mission. The role holder will be responsible for overseeing project implementation, programming, and advocacy in North-East Myanmar. He/she will work on synergising the different components of programmatic and advocacy response, in order to maximize the impact for affected populations. The Area Programme Manager will make a significant contribution to NRC Myanmar’s ongoing role as a pilot country for NRC’s global initiative for Integrated Programming. This role will also ensure that the Myanmar mission fulfils its objective of prioritising hard-to-reach populations and contributes towards pathways to durable solutions.

What You Will Do

  • Area strategic plans programme components, and preparation. Area-specific input on thematic strategies, Country Strategy, and Annexes.
  • Project implementation (master support budget and coordinating input for donor proposals and reports).
  • Project cycle management (proposal development, budget management, reporting, etc.).
  • Monitoring and evaluation commitments in the Area Office (facilitating evidence-based learning and decision-making).
  • Partnership engagement and management (partner assessment, regular partner meetings, overseeing partner reporting, etc.).
  • Line management of senior project staff and Area Office Monitoring & Evaluation staff. Staff capacity building, training, and support in accordance with capacity gaps and training needs.

 

What You Will Bring

  • Management experience in a humanitarian/recovery context.
  • Protection work experience.
  • Complex, and volatile context exposure.
  • Myanmar context exposure and knowledge.
  • English fluency, both written and verbal.

What We Offer

  • Myitkyina, Myanmar duty station, but with the ability and flexibility to work from home/remotely for extended periods of time.
  • 24-month contract duration.
  • 30% travel, approximately.
  • Grade 9 in NRC’s Salary Scale. NRC offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.
