About IRRI

Job Purpose
International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) with the support of the Government of India, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare has established IRRI-South Asia Regional Centre (ISARC) in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. It is a regional facility that supports research collaboration, training, and service provision to institutions, scientists, farmers, and other stakeholders from India and other South Asian and African nations. The state-of-the-art rice research Centre catalyzes South-South collaboration, strengthens research and capacity development of rice-growing countries in the South Asia and Africa regions, and contributes towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals 2030. Recently the government of India has accorded approval for ISARC phase 2 through an MOU with IRRI to implement next- phase activities up to 2027 to help boost farmers’ incomes by enhancing and supporting rice productivity, reducing the cost of production, value addition, diversification, and enhancement of NARES and farmers’ skills.

This position will handle and support capacity development implementation / operations and content creation for CEIRD unit at ISARC. The incumbent will responsible for -
1. Short, medium, and long-term training implementation/operations (face-to-face, online and OJTs) at ISARC. The activities under training operations will include imparting training as resource person (RP), managing arrangements related to training logistics, content readiness, delivery management, training delivery as facilitator, monitoring and evaluation of training batches, report preparation, etc.
2. Scholars and youth engagement operations and business at ISARC and South Asia
3. Supporting IE and ISARC in content writing/curation, reports and brief writings, etc in coordination with the team, and other similar documentation activities.
4. Support with secondary research and identification of suitable education and capacity development opportunities across Asia and Africa. The incumbent will also support writing concept notes, business proposals, training reports, and managing relations with B2B and B2C clients.

This position will be based out of the IRRI South Asia Regional Center (ISARC) at Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh and will be filled in only by the permanent citizens of India.
Roles and Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for following activities -
● Management and operations of scholars and youth engagement at ISARC and South Asia
● Short, medium, and long-term training implementation/operations (face-to-face, online and OJTs) at ISARC and South Asia. The activities under training operations will include imparting training as resource person (RP), arrangements related to training logistics, content readiness, delivery management, training delivery as trainer and facilitator, monitoring and evaluation of training batches, report preparation, etc.
● Support with secondary research and identification of suitable education and capacity development opportunities across Asia and Africa. The incumbent will also support writing concept notes, business proposals, training reports, and managing relations with B2B and B2C clients.
● Support to CEIRD, ISARC and other IRRI programs across South Asia and Africa
o Support to the ISARC and associated projects activities on related aspects/ themes
o Support and contributing to the organization of CoCo, advisory committee, and other important meetings and monitoring/ execution of actions to be taken related to their units /sub-units
o Support and contribute to the efforts on six monthly/annual/ other reports preparation of ISARC and associated projects
o Support on contributing to the drafting of communication materials, news, bulletins, etc of CEIRD, ISARC.
o Support in participation/contribution to visits, meetings, workshops, farmers' fairs and any such events at ISARC
o Support in fund generation activities by contributing to proposal writing and creating new opportunities o Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor and ISARC Director
● Coordinate and develop branding and communication activities such as advertisement, marketing collaterals, website updates, and online releases (internal and external), market research, budget, expense, sales and revenue analysis, and oversee the client database management around the five portfolios of CEIRD
● Liaise with different units/teams of IRRI for scholars, capacity development and content development work at ISARC and across the world.
● Help establish and sustain partnerships with various stakeholders of CEIRD, ISARC and IRRI (e.g. collaborators, NARES, universities, service providers, donors, visitors, private and public sector partners, for program and projects)
● Engagement with ISARC, IRRI and IE teams for successful delivery of assigned responsibilities such as ISARC project activities, scholars and capacity development delivery, documentation and report preparations, content designing and curation, resource generation activities etc.
● Flawless and robust scholars, short term and KM solutions under CEIRD at ISARC
● Reports, media briefs, brochures, leaflets and other such documents for IE and ISARC ● Draft reports for submission to supervisor and/or stakeholders [e.g project reports/monthly reports]
● Support in development of content and OERs in coordination with resource persons ● Contribute ideas for the development of unit specific proposals for CEIRD
● Identification and development of CN / proposals for resource generation activities for CEIRD at ISARC
● Participate in industry forums, client discussions, and conferences as directed for visibility of CEIRD, ISARC, IRRI and CGIAR

Perform any other relevant duties as assigned by supervisor from time to time
Qualifications
Ph.D. / Master’s degree in Agronomy / Agriculture/ Agriculture Management/ Rural Management/ Social Sciences or related fields with minimum 5-year experience in agriculture education/ training / extension domains

Allowances:

In addition to the base salary indicated above, IRRI also offers the following allowances: • House-Rent Allowance: IRRI provides a house rent allowance of 40% of base pay per month
• Transport Allowance: A monthly transport allowance of INR 4000
• Dearness Allowance: One Hundred and Thirteen percent (113%) of employee’s base pay
• Leave Travel Allowance (LTA): One-month base pay per annum, on availing minimum 2 days of vacation leave
• Education Allowance: INR 1000/- per child per month (limited 2 children)
