Country Support Officer - Yemen, Libya, and Iraq
Location: UK Flexible (home working) with occasional London office visits 
Contract type: Permanent - 35 Hours per week 
Salary: Circa £23745 + £3,344 London Weighting (if applicable)

We have a fantastic opportunity for a collaborative and solutions focussed professional to provide programme management and administrative support to British Red Cross programmes in Yemen, Libya and Iraq as the Country Support Officer. 

What you will be doing


Reporting to the Programme Manager (Yemen, Libya and Iraq) you will provide support through the provision and maintenance of programme management tools and administrative support. You will ensure the effective implementation of BRC supported programmes and activities in our partner countries.

In this busy but exceptionally rewarding role, you will provide a range of support responsibilities including internal and external information management; preparing information packs, providing briefings, coordinating departmental contributions to corporate reporting, acting as focal point for the team and external networks, and liaison with other teams.

You will support the Programme Manager to produce, monitor and maintain accurate financial programme budgets and narrative/ financial reports for programmes and support relationship and communications management through effective internal and external liaison, facilitating engagement between British Red Cross, UK Office and field-based personnel and managing information in a range of formats.

This role is right for you if…

You have excellent administration and organisational skills, including time management, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and manage work effectively in a fast-paced environment, delivering within agreed timescales against specific objectives.

You’ll be highly computer literate with an advanced knowledge of Microsoft packages - Excel, Word, PowerPoint and information management systems. You will also have experience of financial administration including budget preparation.

You’ve got experience in project management and you’re a great communicator, (both verbally and written) able to write reports and proposals for a variety of internal and external audiences, supporting collaborative working practices. 

You’ll ideally have experience of working in international context, including international response or international development with a desire to learn and further your career whilst supporting the world's largest humanitarian network

This post sits within the Middle East & North Africa team of the Programmes and Partnerships department, who provide single oversight of our community resilience and capacity building partnerships with national societies and disaster management activities. The team operates out of both the UK and within the MENA region where we have an office in Beirut, Lebanon.

The department works in partnership with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). 

The International Division is responsible for international disaster response, support to resilience programmes and organisational development of our partner Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. The work of the International Division also includes humanitarian policy and advocacy activities, and International Humanitarian Law. British Red Cross' international work is carried out in coordination and partnership with the International Red Cross & Red Crescent Movement.
