Head of Support (National Position), Poland

Your purpose as the Head of Support is to ensure that all support functions are providing high quality and efficient support programme implementation.

Specific responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for technical capacity building of support staff
  2. Responsible for ensuring NRC procedures and policies are in place and running correctly
  3. Ensure support team can meet the organizational support needs of contractual partners in Poland
  4. Ensure NRC PL meets hosting commitments to Central and East Europe Regional Office (CEERO) for HR, Finance, and Logistics needs
  5. Ensure NRC Poland meets lighter hosting commitments to ACAPS for HR, Finance, and Logistics needs
  6. Proactively work with Head of Programs (HOP) and Project Development Managers (PDMs) on planning and training for support needs
  7. Ensure compliance with local legislation and provide support regarding all legal issue
  8. Development, review and implementation of in-country policies, and strategies related to support functions Responsible for technical capacity building of support staff

Generic professional competencies:

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience from a senior management position in a humanitarian/ recovery context
  • Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Allocation of resources and costs expertise
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Knowledge of market analysis and cash-based interventions
  • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal
  • Valid driver’s license

Context/Specific knowledge and experience:

  • Knowledge of the context in Poland
  • Knowledge of Polish is advantageous
  • Experience with a start-up
  • Experience working with contractual partners
  • Experience in establishing systems, training staff, etc.
