Description

If selected for this position, you will work on the activities related to the Greek National Satellite Space Project, whose management has been entrusted to ESA. The project is part of Greece’s Recovery and Resilience Facility plans, which aim to enhance its capabilities in satellite technologies and applications and empower the country to exchange satellite data. 

You will report to the Greek National Microsatellites Project Manager and will be responsible for the procurement of several cubesats and providing support for a small satellite project. This will include the design and development, PFM manufacturing, integration, testing and in-orbit validation of the cubesats and small satellites. When performancing your duties, you will coordinate closely with the Greek SMEs and research/academic entities associated with this work.

Duties

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

•    following cubesat project contracts in line with their declared technical, programmatic, schedule and cost objectives;
•    negotiating and subsequently managing the project contract, including contract changes as required;
•    evaluating and supporting trade-off assessments performed by SMEs and research/academic entities in the process of defining the baseline system concept;
•    supporting a small satellite project;
•    developing and validating innovative solutions up to in-orbit validation;
•    supporting systematic involvement in the generation of requirement specifications and interface definitions;
•    following the satellite mission and system analyses;
•    following the external interfaces (launcher and launch site interfaces, mission and payload interfaces, space-to-ground interfaces including the TC&R architecture and the TMTC plan);
•    overseeing the implementation of an FDIR strategy, operational concepts and corresponding products, along with user requirements for the ground segment;
•    Supporting the definition and conduct of test campaigns;
•    conducting cubesat project reviews;
•    monitoring the schedule and risks of the relevant procurements and updating the associated technical budgets;
•    providing regular technical, programmatic and financial reporting to the ESA Satellite Project Manager;
•    coordinating specialised engineering support from the Directorate of Technical and Quality Management in the appropriate areas of competence, as required.

Your duties may also include supporting other activities within your area of competence.

Education

A master’s degree or equivalent in physics or engineering is required.
 

Additional requirements

Direct experience of working with a commercial telecommunications firm and operator and/or a sound understanding of operating within the European agency framework would be a distinct advantage. 
Experience in public-private partnership projects would be an asset.
