Background:

The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe promotes the implementation of OSCE principles and commitments, as well as the co-operation of the Republic of Tajikistan within the OSCE framework in all three dimensions. It is involved in a wide range of activities, ranging from counter-terrorism and border management projects to supporting cross-border markets and free economic zones, human rights, media development, and legal reform initiatives.


Tasks and Responsibilities:

Under the overall supervision of the Materials Management Officer and direct supervision of the Transport Assistant, the successful candidate will be tasked with the following duties:  

  1. Driving OSCE vehicles to transport the Head of Office and participating in the protection and safety of the Head of Office;
  2. Driving other high ranking officials, visiting experts and delegations and Office staff when not driving for the Head of Office;
  3. Delivering letters and other documents to Diplomatic missions, International organizations, NGOs, etc. and whenever necessary delivering parcels/pouches  or other documents from the post office;
  4. Conducting regular checks of office vehicles and informs the Administration of any needed maintenance;
  5. Maintaining day to day cleanliness and good working condition (fuel, car fluids, oil, tires, springs) of  vehicles; 
  6. Maintaining log of vehicle usage;
  7. Ensuring that the steps required by the rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident;
  8. Performing other duties as required by the Head of Office or the Transport Assistant.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • Completion of secondary education;
  • Category B and E driver's license;
  • Two years of professional driving experience with a safe driving record and established awareness of security issues;
  • Experience in basic vehicle repair and maintenance is required;
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in Russian and Tajik languages. Good written and oral communication skills in English language;
  • Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, and an ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities;
  • Ability and willingness to work as a member of team, with people of different cultural, and religious backgrounds, different gender, and diverse political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity.

 

Remuneration Package:

Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions is 532.58 EUR. Social benefits will include participation in the Cigna medical insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund.
