Mission and objectives

The Regional Bureau for Arab States (RBAS) based in New York serves as the headquarters for UNDP regional programmes and country offices in 17 Arab countries, with the 18th located in the occupied Palestinian territory. The Bureau is headed by ?Mr. Mourad Wahba, United Nations Assistant Secretary General and UNDP Assistant Administrator and Regional Director. UNDP is the UN's global development network, an organization advocating for change and connecting countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life. UNDP’s activities in the Arab States region build on UNDP’s five thematic priorities, with additional emphasis placed on addressing the main impediments to human development in the region as identified by the Arab Human Development Report series, namely freedom and good governance, knowledge, and women’s empowerment. The online volunteers will work in context of the Governance & Peacebuilding teams, UNDP Bureau for the Arab States, to support print and visual requirements for key publication on environmental security. Task description

We are looking for an online volunteer to work with the Governance & Peacebuilding teams to support the UNDP RBAS. The specific tasks include: - Design creative print content establishing a unique visual identity and layout, including graphics, images, visuals, and edit/enhance visual presentation of pending publications in the thematic area of environmental security. - The document is roughly 30 pages without the visual materials. The Online Volunteer is expected to provide a visual look and formatting for the paper with visual materials to the chapters (an estimate of 6 large pictures edited for the page layout, 5-6 graphs and tables, 6 text boxes).
