ORGANISATIONAL BACKGROUND

TRAFFIC is the leading non-governmental organization working globally on trade in wild animals and plants in the context of both biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.

TRAFFIC International is a charity and limited company registered in the UK. TRAFFIC’s head office, based in Cambridge UK, provides worldwide leadership, coordination, cross-regional and corporate functions. TRAFFIC’s local engagement is managed through programme offices operating under the auspices of the UK charity, with staff based in a hub office and at other strategic locations where necessary. Programme offices operate within a geographic area of responsibility focused on one or multiple countries where TRAFFIC aims to help deliver priority programme outcomes. TRAFFIC works in strategic alliance with IUCN and WWF on wildlife trade issues.
JOB DESCRIPTION
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES

This position will be responsible for implementing on-the-ground projects in the TRAFFIC Vietnam Office. These projects varied in type, size, and objectives, but share the ultimate goal of ensuring that the wildlife trade is not a threat to the conservation of nature. This position will work closely with project partners including government, CSO, and private sector counterparts, coordinate with the Senior Program Officer, and other project team members in TRAFFIC Vietnam & TRAFFIC Global Offices, and report regularly to Program Office Director about project management matters.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

• Take the lead and ensure the timely and effective implementation of assigned projects including designing, developing methodology, implementing or supervising the delivery of project activities with partners, analyzing the market, consumer and other data, developing strategic partnerships, reporting, capturing the impact and learning that arise from these activities, follow-up actions and other required administration tasks.
• Establish and maintain relationships with relevant project stakeholders including local government, the private sector, civil society representatives and the donor; identify opportunities to collaborate with other organizations and leverage resources; and maintain smooth and regular communication with the Senior Program Officer/Program Officer and other Project Officers in TRAFFIC Vietnam Office for project synergies and with relevant focal points in TRAFFIC Global Offices and other TRAFFIC Offices working on similar projects.
• Conduct other project management processes including project approval procedures.
• Timely prepare quarterly/bi-annual/annual technical reports; take lead or provide technical inputs into the development of training and communication products/toolkits, and other documents.
• Ensure monitoring and evaluation process for activities and interventions delivered through the assigned projects including support to manage online/physical market surveys behavior change measurement surveys, and other research through polling, surveying, and analyses.
• Take the lead in organization and participation in project events (meetings/workshops/training and others).
• Provide appropriate guidance and supervision so that project partners can develop qualified project proposals and budgets.
• Ensure transparency, ethical conduct, and efficiency in project implementation.
• Undertake other tasks relevant to the project as determined by the Program Office Director.
