The Communication Associate supports the Communication and Advocacy section’s interventions, including media relations, strategic partnerships building and public advocacy. In line with UNICEF Ukraine’s advocacy and communication priorities as well as donor visibility and recognition requirements, this post will assist the Communication team in the day-to-day management of communication work. In close coordination with the programme and emergency teams, the communication section focuses on enhancing UNICEF’s digital presence in Ukraine, share of voice and public engagement. In addition to core roles, the communication team provides the country team with professional expertise and guidance on all aspects of external communication, while also acting upon UNICEF’s global communication priorities in a locally-appropriate way.

The Communication Associate supports the Communication and Advocacy section’s interventions, including media relations, strategic partnerships building and public advocacy. In line with UNICEF Ukraine’s advocacy and communication priorities as well as donor visibility and recognition requirements, this post will assist the Communication team in the day-to-day management of communication work. In close coordination with the programme and emergency teams, the communication section focuses on enhancing UNICEF’s digital presence in Ukraine, share of voice and public engagement. In addition to core roles, the communication team provides the country team with professional expertise and guidance on all aspects of external communication, while also acting upon UNICEF’s global communication priorities in a locally-appropriate way.
Having the increased role of the communication function due to the ongoing emergency, the Communication Associate will report to the Communication Specialist, while supporting external and media relations, strategic partnership building with key target groups, digital outreach, public campaigns in support of effective programme delivery, the timely production of communication assets and organization of advocacy events. Also, Communication Associate will report to Communication Specialist, including effective outreach to key audiences, capacity building activities, and innovations. The Communication Associate is responsible for administrative services and financial support of moderate scope and difficulty of Communication and Advocacy Section

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
Education: |
Secondary education, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to the work of the organization. Courses, trainings on media, communication, and digital will be an advantage. Bachelor Degree in Communication, Media/Social science related area will be an asset. |
Experience: |
Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, including record–keeping and processing of information, of which at least one year is closely related to support of programme or communication activities. Experience in international organizations/UN system will be an asset. |
Language Requirements: |
Fluency in English and Ukrainian is required. Knowledge of other UN languages will be an asset. |

Appointments are also be subject to inoculation (vaccination) requirements, including against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid).
