Job Overview
The Mass Market team’s mission is to inspire the UK public to financially support the IRC to help people impacted by conflict and disaster. The main purpose of this role is to support the Acquisition Marketing Manager, and the Senior Acquisition Marketing Executive in generating long-term sustainable growth, improving income and
developing a diverse and supporter-centric fundraising model. As the Acquisition Marketing Executive, you will play a key role in delivering the UK Acquisition strategy and programme, across a range of channels with the key objective of significantly growing the supporter base and income. You will deliver the current digital acquisition programme, as well as focus on new product, channel and audience development, all whilst ensuring all activity is in line with our supporter’s needs and expectations.
The team is in an exciting period of growth, developing new fundraising products and processes to better serve our clients around the world. This role will be actively involved in testing and refining new products, channels and propositions with the team, reporting and tracking the progress of the fundraising portfolio.

 

IRC-UK
Our European headquarters, IRC-UK, was established in London in 1997 to support the organisation’s global activities and particularly to diversify its donor base and to better advocate with European policy-makers on behalf of the people we serve. Since its establishment IRC-UK has grown rapidly and is now acknowledged for its high-quality project management, technical expertise in governance and rights and economic recovery, and innovative thinking on early recovery and gender-based violence. IRC-UK comprises approximately 120 staff. The IRC also has offices in Berlin, Bonn, Brussels, Geneva and Stockholm, and most recently, Seoul.
 
Key accountabilities
Programme execution and development
• Implement multi-channel lead-gen and revenue-generating campaigns, ensuring all activity is designed to inspire and engage supporters across various channels, online and offline, in consultation with the Senior Acquisition Marketing Executive.
• Support the Senior Acquisition Marketing Executive and the Acquisition Marketing Manager in the operational execution of the acquisition strategy.
• Take the lead on projects to develop and drive innovation within the acquisition fundraising programme, in consultation with the Acquisition Marketing Manager.
• Ensure that prospective donors receive an excellent user experience, working closely with the UK Retention team to develop a seamless progression into further cultivation
• Responsible for activity being produced on time and in budget
• Work collaboratively with equivalent Communications, fundraising and wider colleagues to maximise fundraising opportunities
• Work closely with equivalent team members in other national markets around the world (i.e. Germany, Sweden, US) and the International Operations team to ensure all activity is coordinated and maximised. 

 

 Budget management, planning and reporting
• Support the Senior Acquisition Marketing Executive in accurately tracking and reporting on Acquisition expenditure and income budget lines, feeding into the Acquisition Marketing Manager’s regular financial reporting
• Focus on maximising return on investment at all times, and make suggestions for contingency action as necessary to achieve budgeted income target
• Feed into quarterly planning sessions, ensuring all work is aligned with UK Mass Markets strategic objectives
• Feed into a monitoring and reporting framework for acquisition activity, to track performance against key targets, expenditure and strategic objectives Insight, analysis and data management
• Create detailed end of campaign reports to ensure all relevant information is documented and used to inform future activity
• Work closely with the data team and external agencies in order to identify and uncover potential audience segments and to enable accurate targeting of acquisition campaigns and appeals
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current GDPR data protection legislation and work with the Acquisition Marketing Manager to ensure all acquisition activity is compliant General
• Keep up to date with the sector developments in individual giving and acquisition fundraising to ensure IRC is at the forefront of fundraising developments
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current legislation, best practice and industry standards and adhere to all relevant regulation including the Fundraising Regulator and ICO. Work with the Senior Acquisition Marketing Executive to ensure all fundraising and marketing is ethical, effective and supporter centric
• This post may involve some travel, overnight stays and very occasional working outside core office hours, e.g. during an emergency appeal
• Undertake any other additional tasks as requested by the Senior Acquisition Marketing Executive or the Acquisition Marketing Manager

Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications:
• Driven and proactive with a solutions-based attitude
• Excellent verbal and written English and the ability to produce high-quality fundraising copy
• Commercial mindset, with the ability to balance both long-term and short-term activity and objectives
• Numerate with demonstrable, excellent data analysis and interpretation skills.
• Excellent organisational skills, especially the ability to manage a complex, varied and substantial workload
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders
• Excellent IT skills with Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) as well as digital marketing tools such as Facebook Ads Manager and Google Ads
