Objective of the Programme

To provide support in generating VPDs and AEFI Surveillance related data analysis to support evidence-based analysis for timely sharing of analyzed feedback with GoB and partners.

Description of duties:

Under the guidance of the WHO Team Lead IVD and the direct supervision of Data and Information System Associate-IVD the incumbent will have to perform the activities to support EPI Programme as described below:

  • Assist to organize, improve and maintain the data management system (Digital and hard copy) of Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) surveillance (AFP, Measles, AES, NT and Active), AEFI, immunization, SIA and different data activities under national EPI Program and any other immunization/ Vaccine deployment assignment related to health emergencies/pandemics.
  • Assist technical team in analysis of data and update key performance indicators, produce graphs, charts, map and other forms of data visualization including maintenance of shape files for mapping utilities based on the surveillance data routinely to monitor the disease trends and vaccination coverage for meeting, workshops and Ad-Hoc needs.
  • Ensure surveillance specific data entry in computerized databases (customized software); maintain high quality data by regularly reviewing databases for errors and take need-based necessary corrective actions and also provide feedback to the surveillance network to obtain further information on incomplete/ erroneous documents
  • Assist to upgrade database using data management tools (MS Access. MS Excel, EPI Info, DHIS2, Opensource platform.) including modification of existing tools in accordance to the program needs and as when required.
  • Maintain and update tracking system for erroneous report, missing information, late submission of reports, use log sheet and provide feedback to the surveillance network for corrective action and follow-up on compliance with the field offices.
  • Assist technical officer in documentation, review/tracking and follow up activities with field offices on HSS3/GAVI indicators and also assist to design and maintain IVD photo Bank, Hard-to-Reach (HTR) area, High Risk (HR) area, EPI vaccination Centre, EPI Monitoring and Supervision System, Individual Registration system and DHIS2
  • Assist to prepare/draft reports, article, bulletins and sitreps and liaison with field office through Project Facilitator for timely submission of online and offline reports; Assist technical team in building capacity of Government and WHO-IVD field staff including staff working in WHO emergency sub office Cox's Bazar
  • Provide support to IVD Technical Officer (if required) in analysis related to funding allocation viz a viz utilization (monthly, quarterly and annual), preparation of budget data sheet and proposal.
  • Assist technical team in building capacity of Govt. and WHO-IVD field staff including staff working in WHO Emergency Sub office Cox’s Bazar;
  • Undertake travel to field offices for pilot study, training, monitoring, evaluation, assessment and data validation/quality assurance.
  • Any other task assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

Essential: Bachelor’s degree in information technology / Statistics / Economics or any other relevant field

Desirable: Master’s degree in the relevant field

Experience:

Essential: Minimum 3 years’ experience in data management

Desirable: Working experience in VPDs and AEFI Surveillance data management will be added advantage.

Functional Knowledge and skills

  • Knowledge of Acrobat Reader, ArcGIS Map, MS Access, SQL, Epi-Info, or SPSS or STATA would be desirable

  • Monthly salary: BDT 72,675.00 (SSA – 5, Step I) (non-negotiable)
