-Purpose of consultancy

To support WHO in Ukraine with an emerging demand to highlight activities of donors projects in the frame of the Russian Federation’s invasion of Ukraine and other programmatic areas by preparing visibility products such as press-releases, social media items, video and photo stories, stickers and banners; as well as to organize and conduct a series of visibility events in line with visibility strategies of donors.

Background

WHO is supporting the Government of Ukraine to respond to the humanitarian crisis as a result of the Russian Federation’s invasion of Ukraine. The conflict has already displaced millions of civilians and disrupted the health system in the country. As a global health lead, WHO is supporting the emergency response across a range of programmatic areas in the country.

There is a high demand to highlight efforts of the WHO CO team and donors in line with the strategies of each project. WHO CO Ukraine has to constantly organize and conduct a series of visibility event and produce supporting visibility products including press-releases, social media items, video and photo stories, stickers and banners with branding. To address these needs above, WHO CO Ukraine must ensure that the visibility consultant will support IMST team in line with the donors’ visibility strategies.

Deliverables

1. Planning of the visibility activities related to the ongoing war response in collaboration with international donors and national and local partners,
2. Produce visibility activities related to WHO Country Office priorities including drafting of press releases, videos, photo stories and more.
3. Organizing and project managing high level visibility events for WHO CO related projects. inviting media and partners, organizing branding, photo support of donations, text to support photos, consent forms, and other communications materials to for events
4. Ensure appropriate branding of donations under international donor agreements and in collaboration with national and local partners on the ground.
5. Ensure reporting for all conducted visibility activities, indicating key participants and visibility impact (coverage of people).

Qualifications

Education qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or related field

  • Completed trainings in communications, marketing, journalism, or related fields.

Experience

Essential

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in communications, journalism or related field.

  • Working experience of project management of high-level events

  • Working experience of managing media, and social media channels.

Desirable

  • Experience of conducting joint projects with stakeholders and different partners.

Skills and Knowledge

Essential

  • Communication expertise, including good knowledge of various communications tools.

  • Strong project management competencies which enable to manage various tasks and several projects with the WHO team and partners.

  • Ability to adapt, develop, produce and disseminate basic communication products such as press-releases, social items, news.

  • Ability to organize visibility events with partners and donors, aligning all messages and preparation activities.

Language skills

Essential

  • Excellent knowledge of Ukrainian and English languages (oral and written)

Desirable

  • Advanced knowledge of Russian

Location

On site: Kyiv, Ukraine

Travel

The consultant might be involved in travels if needed.

Remuneration

a. NO-B, 140 USD per day, full time

b. Expected duration of contract: 6 months

The Consultant shall be solely responsible for withholding and paying any taxes, duties, social security contributions and any other contributions which are applicable to the Consultant in in each location/jurisdiction in which the work hereunder is performed, and the Consultant shall not be entitled to any reimbursement thereof by WHO.
