Project Overview

 

Family Planning and SRH services are critical to government of India’s Reproductive, Maternal, New-born, Child, and Adolescent Health (RMNCHA) program, which aims to achieve population stabilisation, promote reproductive health, and reduce maternal and child mortality and morbidity. WJCF works closely with the state of Madhya Pradesh to enable policy design, roll-out and implementation of SRH services with the aim to support the state government in achieving the ambitious goal of expanding access to quality and accessible RMNCHA services. The SRH team has been supporting the government of Madhya Pradesh in scaling access to Comprehensive Abortion Care (CAC) services, driving uptake of Modern, Effective and Temporary (MET) methods of contraception, addressing supply chain infirmities in family planning commodities, skilling health workers in counselling and service delivery, and identifying new approaches to improve awareness and uptake of family planning services in vulnerable communities across the state.

 

WJCF is also shaping FP ecosystem in India to enable introduction of new contraceptive methods with the aim of increasing contraceptive choices for women. SRH team is driving the market shaping for new methods such as LNG1.5 mg as pericoital pill, and Long-Acting Reversible Contraceptive (LARC) methods such as implants and hormonal IUDs.

 

Role Overview

 

The Analyst/Senior Analyst will support design and implementation of programs for introduction and uptake of new family planning methods across public, private, and social marketing organization (SMO) channels in India. In addition, this role will require working on other SRH priorities, including comprehensive abortion care, sexual health, and family planning services.

 

The Analyst/Senior Analyst will work with the Program Manager on developing product introduction roadmaps for target commodities, conducting primary and secondary research, collating and synthesizing information to generate high quality insights, coordinating with donors and partners on program design and collaborating with a range of internal and external stakeholders. They will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks, from quantitative analysis to content creation and assisting the team with components which will contribute to market shaping, data analytics and/or demand generation. The position requires travel to program implementation sites and for meetings with other stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct and summarize findings from secondary research on existing literature and produce high quality quantitative and qualitative insights to inform product introduction roadmap
  • Support the SRH team on supply chain management work streams (e.g., product forecasting, developing stock monitoring tools etc.)
  • Support team in drafting implementation plans and provide support related to costing strategic plans, assisting with surveys, etc.
  • Support data analytics workstreams, including development of dashboards, project tracking tools etc.
  • Identify and engage with the third-party agency for formative research with product users
  • Liaise with global teams regarding updates on new FP methods and synthesize information to develop a comprehensive product roll-out strategies across public, private and social marketing organization (SMO) channels
  • Support the SRH team in identifying service delivery models to improve uptake of SRH services and/or modern methods of family planning
  • Developing an understanding and documentation of the SRH ecosystem, including donors, partners, relevant government departments and officials
  • Support scoping for new opportunities/creating pitch documents for new grants/donors in the SRH and allied spaces including and not limited to maternal and child health, gender-based issues and identify white space opportunity areas for WJCF
  • Coordinate project-wide outputs related to execution, implementation, reporting, compliance and updates
  • Prepare documentation and reports for dissemination of information among partners, donors and stakeholders
  • Provide operational support to the Manager to develop, plan, and implement multiple activities simultaneously
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Public Health, Business, or a related field
  • A minimum of two-years professional experience in a private or public sector setting and with increasing levels of responsibility and experience
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced technical proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: demonstrated ability to work independently on complex projects and solve challenging problems, in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task with a strong commitment to excellence, both internally and externally, and with limited structural support
  • Exceptional diplomatic and interpersonal skills, and ability to build strong professional relationships with a range of stakeholders in a challenging, multi-cultural environment
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to prepare compelling presentations that translate the results of team activities into meaningful implementation recommendations
  • English and Hindi language fluency, both written and verbal

Preferred

  • Management consulting/ experience in the pharmaceutical industry other relevant private or public-sector experience
  • Experience in developing go-to-market strategies for pharma or FMCG products, supplier landscaping; Knowledge/experience of CDSCO fuctioning/ new product registration process
  • Strategically minded, able to think creatively around long-term program objectives and the detailed steps necessary to achieve these goals.Willingness to travel as and when required
